Nothing new, but very tasty nonetheless. Our low-sugar policy is buried under vegan cookies and chocolate.

Sheese alert! The Biomarket in Amsterdam stocked up on Sheese smoked and blue cheese again. Get yourself a few packs when you're in the neighborhood.

I also finally found a conveniently placed store that stocks liquid smoke. On the Leidsestraat in Amsterdam there is an American oriented shop called Eichholz. They have hickory and mesquite flavored smokey goodness.

Has anyone found/tried the Alpro mild&creamy strawberry rhubarb flavor yet? I love me some rhubarb, so I really really want to find it (although I read that the rhubarb flavour is not very strong).

I love Eichholzt, although one of the women there was really rude to me once. They're a bit overpriced, but since they're so close to where I work, I run over there on occasion to pick up American products like sweet pickle relish. They also have a good stock of items from the UK, so if you're looking for Tetley's tea or Colman's dry mustartd or something, they're a good bet.

I've never seen the rhubarb flavor of Alpro! Will have to keep an eye out!

The Jumbo in Buitenveldert sells the strawberry and rhubarb flavor, it's really good but you can hardly taste the rhubarb.

Thanks Marla, I found the yoghurt in the AH XL in Zaandam. You're right, almost no rhubarb, but it's still tasty.

I LOVE the No Muh cheeses. The Sheese blue cheese and some of the sausages are pretty good too. And they have the 'soja granulaat' TVP you asked me about. If you're interested in faking eggs, you might want to get some kala namak salt.

I have plenty of black salt from the states, but I saw the granules! I'm stoked. Also...go max go bars and peanut butter cups. NOMZ.

Available at Jumbo and Ekoplaza: vegan nutella. "Penotti organic soya hazelnut chocolate spread." 5.50 at Jumbo, possibly cheaper at Ekoplaza, I forget. Expensive, but forking dangerously amazing. I use it as a frosting for brownies and cakes, too (with speculoos hagelslag).

Oh yeah that stuff is seriously delicious. Almost every night David uses it to make his special dessert: a puffed rice cake topped with Penotti spread and fair trade pure chocoladevlokken or hagelslag.

I think it costs something lik 2,80 at our Ekoplaza.

Great idea to use it for frosting cakes!

I found vegan Worcestershire sauce at the health food store. The brand is Biona organics. I'm really excited! The only brand I've seen here is Lea & Perrins, which of course has anchovies, but this is the only other one I've seen. I got it at Estafette, which I rarely go to since EkoPlaza is better. Glad I stopped in there!

Woot! I found both vegan European Oreos and Alpro Almond Milk at the AH tonight! Woot woot!

Well, the ones I've seen in the past had whey in them, so I never even looked further to see what fats were being used. But these are the ingredients on this package:

Tarwebloem, suiker, plantaardige vet, magere cacaopoeder 4,6%, tarwezetmeel, glucose-fructosestroop, rijsmiddelen (kaliumwaterstofcarbonaat, amoniumwaterstofcarbonaat, natriumwaterstofcarbonaat), zout, emulgatoren (sojalecitine, zonnebloemlecitine), aroma (vanilline).

So they seem ok!

yeah, all new european oreos are vegan now. well, at least it should be germany/netherlands/sweden/uk, etc. Not sure about all European places.

The almond milk is so good, but I am completely addicted to the hazelnut milk! I think it's my favorite milk ever, and it's not even that expensive.

I've only ever seen the hazelnut milk in Belgium and I was stupid enough not to buy it when I saw it. Paloma keeps mentioning it here, so I've been keeping my eyes peeled, but I've yet to see it!
