I like this, MT! Can you tell me a little more about breaking up a long run like that? Extra benefit from running on already tired legs? I am intrigued. I ended up at 17.59 miles! Per Coach T: "Min of 3 hours separating runs. Make sure to foam roll and eat easily digestable foods in between runs. We are splitting it up to help prevent injury and to increase durability by allowing the body to recover a bit, instead of having from break down mid way and trying to just get through it." I was pacing both times off a target heart rate, a few beats below the top of my zone 2. The odd thing is that my pace on the second run was quite a bit faster than my pace on the first (like 30+ seconds) which I was not expecting. I will have to pick T's brain about why I should have been so much more efficient on tired legs. I'm usually able to negative split a half marathon pretty easily (all except the first one) so I dunno... maybe I'm just built for endurance ('cause I'm sure not built for speed!)

First ever yoga class today! It was - OK. I'm not sure what I expected. I'll definitely go back though. (It was Kripalu. The first time I saw an ad for kripalu I thought it was a joke - "cripple you" yoga.)

1.5 hour yin-yang yoga class. I'm having some runner's knee pain so I skipped my long run. I hope it clears up in a couple of days :(

Lower body workout. My squats were terrible today, next time I'm gonna lower the weight and work on my form. But I upped my weights at deadlifts so I'm pretty pleased anyway.

A hatha class tonight. Good Lard it's been a long few months since I was doing yoga regularly! My down dog was painful as hell no matter how I modified it.

I just started exercising again today after maybe a year? ugh! So, I set myself up for an easy workout on my new exercise bike and it totally was NOT THAT EASY! boy am i outta shape! But, it felt really good. First I did this 15 minute yoga video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TyqHraoVSDAThen I biked for half an hour trying to maintain about 70-85% of my max heart rate. damn, I am wiped out, but I feel good!

Today (well, yesterday) I ran for 40 minutes on the elliptical. I ran just over 4 miles. I'm kind of slow. It felt good though.

I did 30 min/6.4 miles on my exercise bike today. My heart rate shoots up so fast even at pretty low intensities. I need to get stronger!
