My best and worst thing was that I broke up with my boss today. She's an awesome lady who I have been working with for about 9 months and have had lots of awesome times with, but there've been lots of moments of friction over the last couple of months, too. We had a good talk about specific frustrating moments recently, and about general challenges that we've had in figuring out how to work together. (I'm her first real employee in the 6 years that she's been self-employed, so it's definitely been a process to figure out how to make that shift.) Kind of emotionally draining but we hugged and both felt better about things afterward, and hopefully we will work on some projects together in the future but in a different way than we've been working together thus far. I got some new perspectives on both ways that I can and should handle work situations in the future, and about why we've had some of the friction that we've had. And I've been thinking about if I should quit for several weeks now, and keep getting more and more responsibilities at my other job that I'm super excited about taking on, and I now feel a huge sense of relief at having more time and energy and attention span for meeting those new responsibilities. Aaaand I don't have to continue to feel nervous about how to bring all of this up, which I've been feeling sick about for at least a week now.

A teaching forum I sometimes read is all rah rah we need guns now. The teachers are pretty conservative overall, very religious, slightly homophobic. I say slightly because people will get called on that shiitake there, but it repeatedly happens.

i got out of work an hour early. which is awesome, so i can wind down and hopefully be asleep by 1230 to wake up at 7 to race tomorrow!

Adults for all forms of cardiothoracic surgery, transplant assessment and surgery, grownup congenital heart (GUCH) surgery.

* cardiac surgery critical care unit,
* incorporating intensive and high dependency unit care,
* postoperative care,
* rehabilitation and discharge planning.

* observing pacing wire removal,

* ECG.

I got home after a weekend at my parents. It's lovely seeing my family and it's lovely getting back home to Mr8 and the peegs.

The fact that I get off of work in 20 minutes. This shift is incredibly boring. 5:30am-1pm.

Really good friends who always have my back.
Oh, and running outside in December. It's awesome.

Not having a class in the morning!

I just spent some time reconnecting with a couple of friends I've been out of touch with for a while. It made me really happy.

Fork tonight was fun. Damnit. Drinks with BFF and the new friend we've been making (sexy as fork drummer guy, straight but so charming and fun). The weather was so shitty he was all thinking we'd call it a night there as we're all cyclists usually, but he had a show he wanted to go to. I get us a Car2Go and drive us 3 (it's a two seater!) to the show. It was awesome. Then when we were finished the closest Car2Go at that point was Downtown, we were not. So we walk across the river on a bridge, wind is damn crazy, walked along a railroad, got voodoo doughnuts... then again fit 3 into a 2 seater... Foooooorrrrkkkkkk. Oh, and singing x-mas carols is in here too.

The best thing about my day was that i thought it was going to be terrible and it was actually really fun. I decided to finally [begrudgingly] potty train my daughter whilst i have time off so we havent left the house all day. BONUS she only had one accident [and it was because she was half asleep] and she pooed on her potty all by herself whilst i was out of the room! I have also bought my parents awesome last minute christmas presents :)

We got a sweet little Christmas card from our wonderful vet and I managed to record a palpitation on the cardiac monitor! The first one since getting it on Thursday.

Getting a ride from my crush! Lard he's cute. Other than that today was meh.

Had a Harry & David gift basket/box on my desk when I came in this morning. A holiday gift from a vendor. Six of the AMAZING pears, some mixed nuts, and some chocolates and popcorn (non-vegan, but that's ok, I can bring home for my honey)

SOLD MY PHONE TODAY! maybe you peeps remember that my cell phone was stolen, and I recovered it? Well, I had already bought a replacement, have been using it for awhile, so I sold mine today on Craigslist. My honey went and met the buyer at the Sprint store for me on his day off. Sold it for almost exactly (minus $5) that I paid for my replacement. I really really really need that $275. And, someone got a great deal on a phone. I could have changed more, but...I don't know. I didn't feel right making a profit for some reason. Don't wanna tempt karma I guess. I think the dude bought it for his girl as an xmas present.

Finished up my online course & got my certification in B2B lead generation marketing. Got something else to put on my resume! Something that actually goes with what I do, instead of my somewhat silly degrees

Got a semi-job offer today. The HR person called me to discuss salary so they could get an offer going. Maybe not the BEST thing, since they offered me peanuts, but its a start.

Hmm...guess I had an okay day. Haha. Not sure what is the BEST. Probably the $275. but dang, those pears are GOOD. If you have ever had Harry & David's pears, you know what I'm talkin 'bout

I made chai spice snickerdoodles with my second graders today! I love baking with the kids at work, since they learn something useful get an actual end product rather than throwing away their third paper plate maraca of the year or whatever. Vegan cookies for all!

Just feeling mushily in love. I didn't even see biker boy today, but I caught myself smiling a million times today thinking about something he said to me yesterday, about how it's a year and a half today since we first made contact on match, about how god he is to me...

I had a pretty rad night tonight. John Hodgman tweeted about a free show IN QUEENS! So, we went and he was practicing his show for Friday. It was a super small group, so he chatted with everyone and then I got to be Gary Busey on stage and didn't barf from stage fright. I also applauded when he mentioned the movie 2012 and he was like wait, stop the show, did you just applaud for 2012 and I got to tell him that I love Roland Emmerich. So...basically tonight ruled.
