Hi, everyone. I'm fairly new to cooking vegan (6 mos), and I eat very well without paying too much attention to fat-carbs-protein content.
I hope you can help me with food ideas for my upcoming adventure: At the end of this week I'm going on a three-day snowshoe, staying in a forest service cabin with a wood-fired cook stove (no electric, no running water). It's cold cold winter here in Montana, and I know from previous experience that eating higher-fat foods is especially helpful in such conditions.
What cooking methods and ingredients will give me an higher fat content? Bacon--my go-to in a former lifetime--is obviously out, and eating piles of nuts isn't what I have in mind, either. Cooking oils? Supplements of some sort? I'm quite versatile in the kitchen, can haul in a wide variety of ingredients (cargo sled), and with the cook stove we can manage more complicated dishes.
Thanks, everyone, for your tips!

You can add flax seeds to dishes like porridge and try cooking with coconut oil. Peanut butter is good for fat as are avocados.

You could bring a tub of earth balance along. I think it'd be ok for out of the fridge for a few days and you could put it in oatmeal, on pancakes, on bread or whatever you wanted and yes to nut butters!

You could also make your own tofu jerky by marinating thin slices in a soy-based sauce (like teriyaki), then drying them in a dehydrator or oven on really low temperature. Then snack on them like beef jerky.

I went camping a few weeks back in the White Mountains and brought several packs of tempeh, a jar of almond butter, a jar of sambal (like siracha but chunkier and without sugar) and made a sauce out of the pb, sambal, and water in my mess kit and dunked tempeh in it that i cooked on a stick. For breakfast I ate trail mix from trader joe's. Not the healthiest but it got me by for 3 days and 2 nights.

Bring veganaise, and make heavy things with it, like potato salad and macaroni salad with that and a fatty faux cheese. Sound slike a fun trip!

Wow! Some great ideas! The British flapjacks sound good (slathered in peanut butter!) - and easy to do since there's a wood cook stove in the cabin. For dinner I think a veggie curry in coconut milk, with rice. Chocolate bar and PB for dessert? (A little incongruous, but, hey, we're roughing it!)
Thanks, everyone.
