NYC Whole Foods stores are no longer selling Ricemellow Creme. Any idea where else I can get some without waiting for the Internets? Or if there's another brand available locally?

hmm I've seen it at The Garden in Greenpoint, but that may be ridiculously out-of-the-way for you...

Thanks! That is very out of the way, but I may truck out there anyway. Do they carry anything else awesome that's hard to get elsewhere or is it near anything interesting?

Do you have Wegmans nearby? I buy it there. Or did, last week (first time trying it)

Hmm the main stuff we buy at the Garden is Bridge Tofu - best tofu EVER, it's made in Connecticut and just tastes really awesome. Nothing else thrilling around there, it's my old neighborhood but I still shop there when we take our kid to the dr across the street.

oh they do have Vegan Treats stuff in their pastry case too...

No Wegmans here. I've heard of it but never actually seen one.

The good news is it took me less than half an hour to get there. The bad news is they didn't have it and had no idea what I was talking about. No Bridge tofu either. Oh well! Maybe I'll cook down some Dandies for this frosting (though they're getting harder to find, too).

Did you go to the actual Garden in Greenpoint or the knock off "Natural Garden"?

Yeah, that's the right place. That used to be my go to HFS. Sorry they let you down. I have found though that sometimes they have something but no one who works there seems to know where it is (or if they even stock it). That said, I don't remember them having ricemellow.

The person who came closest to knowing what was going on (I spoke with three people) took me over to the little spot with the ice cream cones and chocolate syrup (which is where Whole Foods used to keep it), but no luck. Thanks, though! To the Internets!

Ha! Sorry! I was thinking of "Where Have All the Flowers Gone?" which may or may not be any better.

It's OK! At least now I know it's not as hard to get to Greenpoint from midtown as I had thought (I always took the L, but the 7 is way better).
