Killing Them Softly. There was one part that was surprisingly violent and a little hard to watch but the movie as a whole was great. I thought it was kinda different.
The Hobbit. I would stare at the scenery for hours. And the music, wow. I really enjoyed it- the two and a half hours go by like nothing.

I've seen about half (assuming you mean the 100 Years 100 Movies list)... Schindler's List is one of those I have seen. First saw it in school way back when, actually. On the topic of WWII movies I agree with rachell37 that Der Untergang (Downfall) is worth watching. yeah, I have about 4 left, trying to finish by the end of the year. Bridge over River Qwai(sp?) is next Funnily enough The Bridge on the River Kwai is another one that I have seen. Good luck with finishing your list!

The Hobbit. LOVED! The riddles in the dark scene is just the best. Easily my favorite movie of the year.

The Iron Lady - It was alright. One of the plot points got a little tiresome towards the end. Also, screw you for making me sympathise with Margaret Thatcher!

Also, the scenery was gorgeous and I would love to be able to look out my window and see something like that. MIB3-Kinda silly but overall enjoyable. It was what I needed to watch but I sorta wish it was longer.

Since everyone was talking about it, I watched Downfall. It was good! I didn't like that they called Hitler a vegetarian TWICE, tho. And I wish the Fuhrerbunker wasn't demolished because that movie really made me want to walk it's halls. I can understand why Berliners might not want that constant reminder, though.

It's Barbara Stanwyck month on TCM. Saw Double Indemnity (this is a good one for lubi if she hasn't seen it already--excellent film noir) and Sorry, Wrong Number--both really enjoyable flicks.

I just re-watched Stalker the other night and now I kind of just want to watch all of Tarkovsky's films in one glorious go with a big cup of Russian misery..

Cloud Atlas
So incredibly good. I was so impressed, entertained, I cried, I laughed. Need to watch again. The 3 hours just flew by.

Magic Mike, I thought it would be a fun movie, but they tried to give it a story line The Invisible War, a great doc. about rape in the military. It was nominated for an academy award, so I try to see as many as I can. Beware of Mr. Baker(at the theater, not dvd), a rock doc. about Ginger Baker, the drummer from Cream. Great doc!

It's Noir City 11 festival here in S.F. so far I've gone to:
Curse of the Demon (not Noir but Peggy Cummings was there!) Helldrivers Try and Get Me! The Hoodlum A House Divided Kiss Before the Mirror
Going to this week:
The Other Woman The Come On Man in the Dark 3D Inferno 3D
Also watched at home recently: Lady in the Lake, Roller Town (hilariously dumb!!), and Stacy Peralta's Crips and Bloods (amazing)

I watched Dark Shadows last night. Oh I wish I had that time back. I really love Tim Burton but this movie was just boring. Not his best. lubimiller wrote: I watched Ted the other night. Delicacy (La Délicatesse) - Sweet but sad. I really liked it. I figured I would because it has Audrey Tautou and I'll watch her in just about anything.
