My friends dad was visiting from Canada and he was the one that recommended the Lyle's Golden Syrup. It turned out great with it! I've always used corn syrup and vanilla but I dig the golden syrup addition.

Definitely going to make some of these. I've never made tarts with my own pastry before, how do you make them have those nice scalloped edges? Do you use a cutter shaped that way or form them once they're in the pan?

My large biscuit cutter has scalloped edges. I just used that and I tap the dough into the muffin tin on the bottom leaving the edges alone mostly.
