does she think it's a real dog?
my dog trainer has these life size stuffed dogs she uses for her reactive dog training and my super-reactive dog doesnt not approve of them. even though they dont move, have no smell of their own (though im sure they smell like dog being in a dog training facility) he still loses his shiz over them.
even my other (not reactive) dog at one of his training classes saw one of them lying on it's side up on a desk and started whining at it. we had to turn it around :-P
dogs are so silly

dogs are so silly I've never heard of the life-sized dog toys being used in training--that's such a funny image of the dogs reacting to their stuffed twins. Mine just thinks it's funny, and drags it around by the ear. Sometimes she cuddles with it and it's so cute. Sometimes she whips it around in a circle. She's trying to show it she's in charge (she tries to do this to me too. We're still debating who is in charge....)

Dental bones, those green ones... they both love those so much, it was so cute watching them bliss out over them and eat them in one sitting.

Cammie got a heated doggie bed for when she keeps me company in my office from me, and she got a bunch of treats and toys from the rest of my family. We also got a gift card for grooming, which I know I like more than she does.

Amos got a plush hollow tree with three little squeaky chipmunks* that he can pull out. He pulls them all out and while he's playing with one, I stuff the other two back in so he thinks there's an unlimited supply of chipmunks*. I'm pretty sure I first saw this toy on the PPK and that Tegan has a bigger version of it for bigger puppies. He loves it. Last night we had gone to bed when he went back downstairs to fetch a chipmunk* and bring it upstairs to bed with us.
*They are actually squirrels according to the box, but I am going to call them chipmunks anyway because it's funner to say.

i loosely wrapped my dogs' toy presents and one of them was way more interested in trying to eat the paper than the toy inside.
no one will ever convince me that dogs and toddlers are not exactly the same!

We call them chipmunks too, because they look like chipmunks to me (I have never seen a striped squirrel, although google tells me they do exist). Tegan likes to play with the tree on my bed while I sit on the floor with my laptop. She takes the chipmunks out and drops them on my head. She seems to think that is funny.

there is something called a "golden mantled ground squirrel" that looks exactly like a chipmunk to me. we saw them in Yelllowstone. this little guy here is a squirrel not a chipmunk i guess this really has nothing to do with this thread other than to say there are squirrels that look like chipmunks. ;-)

Tofulish wrote: Unlimited wrapping paper. Your cat has big plans for that wrapping paper by the look in his/her eyes! My Blizzard got a ridiculous number of gifts. He got 5 new balls, 2 tins of the fancy food we can never justify buying, a new fishing rod thing and a massive piece of twine. The twine was his favourite and the cheapest... sigh. Was really rewarding when he brought a pile of his new toys to me in bed this morning though... he likes them!
