I got frustrated because I couldn't get my transaction through Tuesday night, but I wouldn't throw a gift card in the garbage. I'm waiting a week to go to a store and see what they've got left.

i got three jars of the emotional brilliance powder, so i definitely only needed one. :)

i went to the mall today (we have a freestanding LUSH and one in a macy's at the same mall), and i ended up doing an exchange... for my two coco lotions and my two emotional brilliances, i traded for creme anglaise (decided why not get the redonk spendy lotion when it's free money, right?), karma kream, and a small slice of coalface. i wanted to try buche de noel but they were out at macy's, so i wandered down to the freestanding LUSH and went hog-wild with the holiday sales... bought two of the buche de noel jars (one free), and one gift box of seasons tweetings (twilight gel, snowcake, dream cream, tiny hands, and a little baby ultrabalm) and then got a box of snow fairy (snow fairy/angel's delight soap/shimmy shimmy glitter bar) for free.

oh, and a cupcake mask, and a dirty solid perfume (and had to get two of those, because they were buy one get one for some reason).

aaaand while i was chatting the girls up about buche de noel (i've never tried it, but like AOBS and have heard such good things), they started telling me about let the good times roll, and they were out of it but gave me a huge sample. yay! and whew! so after all of that, i only spent about $60 of my own money. whee!

I don't have a receipt, but I'll certainly try!

I remember when Lush first opened over here over a decade ago, they were incredibly generous with offering samples, pretty much every time I went in I'd come out with a sample or two, but over the last few years not so much. They gave me a tiny pot of something to protect my skin last time I bought henna but that's the first time I've had anything free in years! Do other UK folk get offered samples? Or do you have success if you ask for them?

I have a $50 gift card and I am willing to let myself go slightly over. What is your favorite lotion from Lush? I'm definetly getting Buffy (the BEST) and probably that cinnamon-y bar of soap I've eyed forever, but I'm in the market for a fabulous lotion.

I've never been offered samples, but I tend towards the 'please don't talk to me or I'll run away' type most of the time. However, when Bun was over here staying we went into a store and she just said to them, I'd like samples of this, this and this please and they were all 'sure'! And this wasn't while buying anything, either, so I say go for it if you're not scared like I am.

I lurv Vanilla Deelite, but I don't think I've tried any others.

dream cream was the first lotion i tried, and i really like it a lot. i just got coco lotion for christmas, and it's a really different consistency (thicker and dries kind of "silky") but i also like it a lot. creme anglaise is pretty amazing (but super expensive) especially in winter, but unless you want to blow the whole gift card i'd maybe aim for one of the cheaper ones. two i haven't tried yet are karma kream (i love the smell but haven't worn the lotion yet), and sympathy for the skin (which apparently has mashed bananas in it).

dream cream is apparently their #1 seller, so that's why i started there, but honestly i haven't been disappointed yet. maybe filter by scents that you like, and then put your top two on one arm each and see what you think?

I also really love Charity Pot as my lotion.

Could anyone use some Vanillary? I have the 0.3 oz/ 9 ml size.

i've been using the buche de noel for the last couple of days (twice per day), and the verdict is YUM. i super-love it, you guys. the girl at LUSH described it as "like angels on bare skin and 9 to 5 had a baby" and i totally agree, it's like the best of both worlds. and it smells soooo good! love love love. i popped one of my jars in the fridge in hopes it will keep longer (has anyone ever frozen the fresh cleansers?). i guess time will tell if this is a good one for me, but right now i'm seriously loving it.

i also tried my sample of let the good times roll this morning: ALSO YUM. it was like washing my face with slightly gritty cookie batter; i wanted to eat it. oh LUSH, i have become so smitten so quickly.

Love this so much, had been waiting all year for it to come back!
I keep mine in the fridge too, since last year the last little remnant went bad, and also I didn't get the freshest of pots this year so it technically "expired" a week ago. Hope keeping it refrigerated will prolong its shelf-life a bit. Will report back.
I wish I could get this all year, though. How is Angels on Bare Skin? I have super sensitive skin and need to know.

Hahahaha, smart move. They update their FB page a lot, especially when a huge sale is going on and their website goes down and I had to stop reading it because every time I went to look at the updates there were people FLIPPING out in the comments.

I tried the butterball last night. LOVED IT. My skin was so smooth.

I would love it if it's still avaliable.

I use Charity Pot. I have crazy dry hands (like, will crack and bleed if I don't moisturize enough) and it works for me.

Oooo, I got one of those in a gift set for Christmas. Now I can't wait to try it! I have sooo much Lush bath stuff right now between Christmas presents and the sale. I really need to clean my tub.

i'm really hoping mine doesn't go bad... the use-by dates are end of february, but i have a feeling two jars will last me a lot longer than that. fingers crossed that the jar-in-the-fridge trick works.

angels on bare skin is pretty similar to buche de noel (my first LUSH even tried to sell me on AOBS when they were out of buche, but i just wandered through the mall to the other one, ha ha). the main differences are scent, and i think buche de noel is a little more moisturizing. but AOBS is supposed to be okay for sensitive skin, and if you're okay with the amount of scrubbiness in buche, i think you'd be okay with AOBS as well. it smells more of lavender and less like a delicious cookie, so be prepared for that.

Thanks! I'll definitely give it a try once I'm out of Buche (mine is still good, btw!). If the scent is anything like Imperialis, I know I'll like it. :)

hard to tell what the consistency of this one is... hopefully more like none of your beeswax and less like double choc. ;)

So. Lush is awesome. With my package, they sent me an apology letter and a free full size bar of soap.

I don't really like the Emotional Brilliance stuff. I like the color of Sophisticated but it's kind of impractical to use. It's not very good for blending because it dries so fast. It's messy and gets all over your hands unless you blend it with something else which again, it's a bit impractical. I don't like that it's in a glass bottle. Because it's so difficult to blend, I have darker spots, lighter spots and bold spots where I want just a touch of color. Unlike a powder, it's difficult to put it on near the barbell in my eyebrow (but I guess I didn't think of that when buying a cream eye shadow). Then the shallow stuff like I think the name and marketing of the make-up is just ridiculous. I feel like I can do much better for almost $20 a bottle.

Sorry you don't like it! I haven't tried the cream eyeshadows, I only have an eyeliner and I'm happy with that. I also have a liner brush I can dunk in there when I can't reach it with the actual thingie anymore. Maybe someone can take it off your hands?

Woah, I just scored big time at my local Lush! All the discontinued items and christmas specials are half off, plus a whole lot of other things because they're fast approaching their sell-by date (something to do with when the store opened, it's only been here half a year). The use-by dates are still far in the future! I needed to stock up on some things anyway, and they were all on sale. A large 9 to 5, ultrabalm, enzymion, a large twilight, a 150 gr chunk of fresh farmacy, lip colour, a large creme anglaise and a large tea tree water. All that for € 95!

I was all set to order a bunch of stuff and they're out of herbalism and aobs, which was pretty much how I justified the order in the first place. I wish there was a way to sign up and have them email me when they're back in stock. I'm so cheap and always wait until I need a bunch of things to justify shipping and now I wish I'd ordered a week ago. Hopefully I'll remember this next time I try to wait.

Have you checked the UK site? Not only are they generally cheaper but for me anyway, my product ships faster from the UK than it does from Canada. There's also the UK only stuff!
