That reminds me of when I got my first period (after 21 months of not having one at all) on a 10 hour plane ride, while taking care of a 12 month old. Thankfully I was prepared, but still. At least you're not pregnant?

I just found out I have to close on New Years Eve, which normally, whatever, but my friend is having a party and I won't get there until probably right at midnight. Lame. I also have to work the next day. Holidays are for suckers, apparently!
Also, sucky holiday related things: my yoga studio is closed NYE and the 1st and the school I teach at on the 2nd is still going to be closed for break. I need money and sanity, places need to be open again already!

I have been supporting my entire family emotionally through this move. It has been a struggle managing the girls stress. So I get a little pissed off when I vent and someone who has no idea what the levels at my house are like tells me to suck it up. I am really feeling like an island through this.

<3 kfad, that sucks a lot, your family appreciates it i'm sure even if right now they're too stressed to acknowledge your amazing support.

I am now feeling sorry for myself. The fact that no one was hurt is the important thing. A car is just a thing. It sucks that it's gone, and it's no fun knowing that it's your fault, but hopefully you can take some comfort in the fact that no one is hurt. I was in an accident a few years ago where my car was totaled. People kept asking me if I was upset that it was gone, and I kept honestly saying no. I was just so relieved that no one was paralyzed for life or dead or even had a broken bone. All the people involved were fine. Every time I thought about how much worse it could have been, I felt so fortunate. So, hopefully you can take some comfort in knowing that you and everyone else involved are ok. I'm sorry you have to deal with this!

Feeling really anxious all the time- mostly about the surgery, but also about work I didn't finish for my nutrition class (too late now) and people and everything I need to do before Friday.

I'm sorry you have to deal with this! You are so right. There are so, so many ways yesterday could have turned out much worse. Above all else, I am truly grateful that no one was hurt. I had presence of mind during everything that happened, stayed cool during the accident, and then calm in dealing with the police and all those involved afterward. In addition, everyone was very nice, which made a bad day way less sucky than it could have been. I've very grateful for human kindness, as well. And...if I had lost my car a year ago it would have really been cause for concern (I was finishing a very stressful academic program 45 minutes away from my home), but right now I've got some options. I pouted some last night, but today I've moved on. I started keeping a gratitude journal this year, so today I looked through it to remind me just how much I have to be thankful for. And it's a lot. After all, a car is just a tool to get from point A to point B. Thanks for the kind words, PPK.

I'm now petrified leaving the house. I had to leave to go walk the dog today and I was so anxious I nearly vomited, passed out and got so drowned in sweat that I am beyond cold now and can't get any heat into me. I can't stop my head replaying the incident where I was assaulted now.

Oh no, I had that a few weeks ago and it's so horrible. My sympathies to you. The only comfort I can offer is to remember that you will feel better in a few days (it's hard to at the time).

best wife ever. Oh man! That's so rough. I smashed my husband's too not too long ago, his dead grandma had given it to him. So, at least you aren't the only one who (accidentally) sucks.

Minor car accident. I was on the road with my sister and my best friend driving home from the movies. We decided to take a different route because the women in the car in front of us was driving about 30 mph too slow. For those of you who don't know, it snowed here yesterday. The roads were cleared, but there were sections where the snow had drifted back on the road. I was driving about 30, but I hit the snow, and my car skidded into a bush and a snow drift before I could do anything. We got out to look around, and my front license plate had bent, but that was it because we hit snow. Seconds later, a man in a jeep pulls over and tells us that he could pull us out. Thank goodness. Everyone was fine, and my dad is going to take the car in tomorrow, but as far as we know, there's nothing wrong.

Well.
Just found out tonight that my roommate is moving in with her boyfriend (again). Which means I have to either move in one month--no idea how long this recovery is going to take and I'm broke from missing so much work. Or move March 1, given that I will be out of the country for a wedding Feb 26-Mar 3. I have to decide by tomorrow. A liiiiittle more notice would have been nice.
