I started 2012 brokenhearted and am finishing it kind of bummed out. At least at this NYE party i'm just bored enough to be playing with my phone, not hiding in the bathroom crying?

It started to really suck towards, ironaically, the very end of 2012 for me. And I anticipate more sucking, SO I will say I welcome the coming of Chinese New Year this year-that is when I will know it is really over and the coast clear to emrace 2013.

The tail end of 2011 was the shitty time for me and it definitely spilled over into 2012. Eff you, depression! I'm trying to be positive for 2013, though. Some things to look forward to: finishing my master's degree, seeing my mom and traveling to Spain with her, having my first "summer holiday" since I graduated from high school.

Happy that 2012 is over because it truly sucked for a lot of my friends, but it was just a bog-standard year with bog-standard ups and downs for me. But I'm heading into some serious life changes in 2013 and if I let myself think about it, it scares the fork out of me.

In-fucking-deed.
I survived two break-ins, a stolen computer, the resulting anxiety and depression, having to move with three days notice (from our beautiful, large apartment to a shittier, smaller, more secure one) my aunt's sudden and tragic death, some medical shiitake (though I've been through worse), being sued for an old debt, a really rough holiday season at work (every year gets a little worse) and a slew of other crepe I have probably blocked out by now.
I'm so glad it's January.
