Hello, new here (:

Anyway, I was wondering if anyone knew a good seitan jerky recipe? I did a search on the mighty Google and came up empty-handed.

I was thinking about marinating seitan in some sort of homemade teriyaki or bbq recipe and then dehydrating it; the texture of seitan seems like it would come out well in a dehydrater but I don't know a good temp. I saw a small amount of recipes but they all said to bake it which kind of seems to take away the point of making jerky...anyway, if anyone has a good jerky recipe and wouldn't mind posting it, that would be Dope.

If nothing, I'll just try it in the old dehydrater in a couple days and try to remember to update this thread.

Thanks!

I will be following this thread with interest!

I have been playing with flavoring Soy Curls, cooking them, and then putting them in my dehydrator to shrink them back down. So far, I get them too crunchy, but am working on a jerky-like consistency. Seitan would be cheaper, though; gonna have to try it.

I haven't done anything with seitan, but a long time ago I sliced tofu very thinly, soaked in teriyaki sauce (shoyu, ginger, garlic, sweetener), then dehyrated. Made a nice teriyaki jerky.

Do it! And thank you for the welcome.
I'm going to try making my own seitan in the next couple days for this project (:
