Is there a brand of single serve plant milks that actually tastes good AND is fortified (calcium and b12 at least)? Bonus points if it's not super sweet. For whatever reason, the ones I've tried are always much sweeter or beanier than the larger sizes. And the ones that taste OK aren't fortified.

Have you tried the Silk Pure Almond? I like 'em.

They're too sweet for me. The vanilla has twice as much sugar as the original, and the singles only come in vanilla and chocolate.

I know Eden makes single serve ones, but people seem to either love Eden or hate it. (I've worked up to barely tolerating.) I've also seen Silk soy milk singles.

ETA: Which ones have you tried that aren't fortified? I've never seen an unfortified plant milk!

I've only ever seen the Eden singles. I like Eden, because the packaging makes it look like a feminine hygiene product.

Eden is one of the ones that isn't fortified (enough). It has only 10% RDA calcium and no b12. And the SoDelicious ones have only 8-10% calcium. I guess they *are* fortified, but not the 30% I expect.

That's a bummer. I've only ever seen silk and eden and I don't buy eden for the same reason. i don't even like drinking non-soy milks because of the lack of protein.

Eden Soy Extra is fortified and has B12, and apparently they make it in singletons, but I've never actually seen it.

I found some single serve soy milk at a Chinese market, but it tasted like butt sauce.

Sauce that goes on a butt, sauce that comes out of a butt, or sauce made of butt?

I go through this frustration every time I travel someplace and want just enough milk for breakfast one day. Those little Silk "very vanilla" ones are like drinking melted ice cream.

huh. Maybe I've only seen/read the label of the Eden Soy Extra. The ones I have drunk reminded me of Total cereal - would taste alright I guess, except that it tasted like vitamins.

Maybe it would be an idea to just pop a b12 and some calcium + vitamin D in the morning, so you don't have to worry about whether the soymilk is fortified? That's what I do, because it's illegal to fortify food with vitamins and minerals here. I mean, either way it would probably be a good idea to eat some extra calcium and b12 so you reach your 100% daily, right?

Is Natur-a only available in Canada? I love their single serving sizes and can get the chocolate and vanilla at Costco for cheap.

I actually already take b12 a few times a week and calcium on days where I don't drink milk in the morning. The single serves are for keeping at work and for traveling, to fill in gaps.

in that case, I totally wouldn't worry about whether it's fortified or not :) It's kind of strange that the small packs are different from the big ones, isn't it? Have you tried emailing the companies and asking about it? I'm kind of curious as to why..

Yes, these are great if you can get them and they come in a variety of flavors.

Natur-a is available here, but I've never seen the single-sized versions, and definitely never saw that brand at Costco. I stock up on their strawberry soy milk whenever I see it!

I wish they would sell individual little tub thingies of soy coffee creamer. It happens all the time that I'm out somewhere, craving coffee, but since there's no such thing as individual, shelf-stable soy creamer packets, I just don't bother with the coffee. It's not like I can just carry around a pint of creamer with me wherever I go, just in case.

...and never mind! Turns out Soygo is no longer available through mail order, and it's not available in my area. Drat!

It looks like there's a bit of a supply issue. But I just bought some from Rabbit Food (an online store) pretty recently. Maybe try again in a month or so?

Yeah, I'll check back with them later on. Hopefully the supply issue's temporary.
