I liked the unturkey roast I got from TJs and the omnis at Thanksgiving that tried it liked it too. I did read somewhere (maybe here?) to cook it longer than it says to, so maybe that's why. I thought it was good.

That bag of coconut is gone. The cat must've eaten them all.

This is extremely popular at my house; with some mashed potatoes and green veggies, food can be on the table super fast and it feels like a "real" dinner. The possible downside is that my kids will eat a whole one; I laid in a bunch for the freezer when they were on sale, so I can cook two at a time.

I really wish Aldi's would sell TJs stuff. The nearest TJs is an hour drive for me.

Would you maybe like it cut/ground up and used in a chili or pot pie?

I liked the unturkey roast better as leftovers. It somehow firmed up a bit in the fridge. It might be good the next day if you sliced it thin, pan fried it to crisp it a bit, and then make a classic Thanksgiving leftover sandwich with turkey, stuffing, and cranberry sauce on really yummy bread.

The coconut chips were finally in. I got two bags because they didn't have a display, only a clip strip of them hanging in the nut aisle, and was afraid if they were good I'd never get another bag. Oh my god. First one is almost gone, second one will go into my hiding spot. The spot I hide stuff from myself so I forget for a while that they're there.

My TJ's FINALLY started stocking the strawberry coconut ice cream! I've only ever found one non-dairy strawberry ice cream and it was the Neapolitan so delicious brand. I'm so excited to try it tonight!!!

Update to my post: OMG I see why everyone loves this stuff so much. It's amazing!
But really, I just came here to ask if anyone knows who makes this ice cream (the name brand) in case I can't find it at TJs again. As a side note, when I was googling this, one of the suggested search terms was "strawberry coconut ice cream paleo". I think it's funny that there are recipes out there for paleo ice cream.

Trader Joe's is super good about returns. They even have a sign up in the store that says something like "We tried everything in the store and love it. We want you to try new things. If you try something new and don't love it, bring it back!" I know someone who used to work there, and told me about some of the way old and half eaten things people would return, so I don't think you'll have any problem returning it. If you are going anyway, why not give it a try? TJ's employees tend to be super nice. The worst that can happen is they'll say no.

I returned something there recently and they didn't ask for a receipt, just gave me money back. Didn't even ask why I was returning. When I worked at Whole Foods we had notorious returners that would empty out their freezer at the end of the year and return old, expired shiitake.

I think it's crazy that people are allowed to return food just because they didn't like it! I would feel like a jerk doing that. The store just has to throw it out.

I'm always baffled about TJ's lax return policy! They never ask why or anything. What's to stop people from just picking stuff up from the shelves and "returning" it for money?

I was at TJs earlier today and my hunger was apparent - all snacks! Corn/wheat tortillas, tortilla chips, coconut chips, whole wheat pretzels (blah to these) and a giant dark chocolate bar for truffle making. Ha!

I bought one of those pound plus chocolate bars with the intention of making chocolate mouse and/or truffles, but then I just ate it all. The problem is that if I buy a pound plus of chocolate I will devour a pound plus of chocolate. I need to buy more like an ounce plus bar next time for eating and hide the big bar on myself until I'm ready to cook with it.

The sweet potato tots were a big hit with Leela - coconutty and sweetpotatoey yum nuggets

The returns are calculated in store prices (I worked at Whole Foods for many years, and corp office as well). And the stores get credit from vendors for returned product, not always, but often. The reasoning for lax return policy is to keep customers happy and coming back. I guess it works, WFM and TJ's are always hopping.
