I've now gained 11 pounds in the past 6 months and am 11 pounds above my previous highest weight. I think years of insomnia finally caught up with me even though I've been working out more than in the past and not eating more: http://www.sparkpeople.com/resource/wel ... asp?id=129 My legs and arms are toned and all my fat is going to my face and stomach, it would be better if they went anywhere else.
I don't have any symptoms of hypothyroidism so I'm pretty sure it's the lack of sleep that's the culprit. Going to start practicing mindfulness meditation again (did it briefly a couple of years ago)and hope that helps me sleep more.

Joining this thread because I'm finally willing to admit to myself that I need to lose a bit of weight. I've put on a good deal of it over the past couple years (probably at least 25 pounds? Scary!) and that's not really good for my overall health. I don't have a scale so I don't know exactly what my weight is, but I do know that the clothes I was wearing two years ago don't fit me anymore. :/

When I was in my early 20s I lost a fair bit of weight just by carefully planning/tracking what I ate, doing a little bit of exercise, and doing weekly weigh-ins. It's a slow process but it worked so I think I'll do that again. I look forward to having more energy. I also look forward to my boobs shrinking a bit and being able to shop in normal stores for bras, though I don't exactly like the "deflated" look my boobs get after losing weight. I think I'll manage though. Now I just need to get a scale...

As an addition to what I wrote above - can anyone recommend an inexpensive scale? It doesn't have to be fancy or digital, I just want it to be fairly accurate and under $25. Preferably even cheaper than that.

Limone, the last one I bought was from Walmart's website and I searched for scales under $25. The one I have is great! I'll have to look at the name after.

This is kind of silly but I'm really hoping to lose some weight while on my liquid diet. This is something I wouldn't ordinarily do but with jaw surgery I have no choice.

So having been at my goal weight for some years now, the last six months have been a spiral of poor choices, feeling sorry for myself, more poor choices blah blah blah. Tonight I rejoined Slimming World (which is how I lost all my excess weight in the first place). I am 16 pounds away from my goal weight. I reckon that allowing for the odd blip, I can do that by the end of March. Just got to get my brain in gear now!

I gained about 5 lbs over the holidays, but started doing Eat to Live a few days ago and have already lost all the weight I gained! Very exciting.

Ouch. But please keep in mind your body needs lots of calories and nutrients to help heal you! Will your jaw be wired shut?

Using the Lose It app because I always have my phone. Hoping to finally be able to start working at weight loss again. It's gonna have to be slow and steady. I think my first goal will be under 160/back to stabilized post hike weight and then go from there. I can probably get there in 1.5-2 months on ~1lb a week. Will have to try and remember to weigh tomorrow morning.

Yup, though I'm only really following it for 4 weeks. I'm actually enjoying it pretty well and feel satisfied following the suggested menus.

Here's the basic outline. Though, the menu plans and some of the recipes in the book are helpful for the first few days, I think.

I weighed myself this morning but I managed to forget what it is because I was so sleepy. All I remember is it is up a bit but nothing major considering I am experiencing feminine difficulties at present.

132.9lbs. Only an increase of .4lb in the past month. I had been aiming to get to 130lb for new years but that didn't happen. Maybe I will get it for February.

I broke my plateau! For months I could not budge below 153, but as of this morning I am 150.6!

It's held shut with elastics! The first couple days were mostly water, apple juice, and then the regurgitation of said fluids (that was the first day/night), so that was sad.

My appetite is better now but I still can't eat as much as I want because it takes so long and I get full so quickly, so I may end up losing weight inadvertently at this point. I am boosting everything with protein powder/vitamin shiitake but calories are kind of a challenge right now.

I haven't been upstairs a lot since I got home, which is where my scale is, but once I am I'm going to check it out!

I got back to the gym (and scale) tonight. Back up, but not too bad. I was completely gluttonous over the holidays, so it could have been worse. I'm hoping that as I get going to the gym again I'll get so e energy back, because I've been practically lethargic. I am lucky that I have been on the mood for more wholesome stuff. I'm going to sit down with appetite for reduction and start planning it my meals a bit more.

GAH I keep injuring myself!! My knee was starting to feel better so I thought I'd book a body pump class for tonight but I injured my arm on Monday and it's too sore.

I need to get back to the gym though so I'm gonna go anyway and do another class that doesn't involve lifting weights. It's so frustrating.

Holy shiitake. I got upstairs today to weigh myself and, even though I am slightly bloated from my period, I've lost somewhere between 4-6 pounds since surgery (hard to tell because it was up and down a lot before surgery). I'm a big girl so the weight loss isn't a worry but it is a really nice surprise. I have another five weeks with my jaw held shut, so...

This is particularly exciting because I am 196 today, meaning I am under 200- for the first time in like two years.

And I'm getting my vitamins! For reals.
