I think it's less "funny" than regrettable that all these years later, no one has produced a show anywhere near as good as what Isa and Terry did in a tiny home kitchen. This is especially frustrating when networks with major budgets can justify funding stuff like Sandra Lee opening a bunch of cans and calling it a "recipe." I haven't seen Vegan Mashup yet, but I can only assume it will be better than the hyperkinetic, cutesyass nonsense on The Cooking Network last night!

The Jazzy Vegetarian on PBS is all vegan. But I cant ever catch it. It comes on early Sat. mornings I think.
Creep, the recipes should be on the cooking channel website. I dont think much of any tv cooking shows give you the actual recipes in full during the show. Do they?

Also, his eyeballs are creeping me out.

Sometimes they'll have a part of a recipe pre-prepared and they won't tell you what they did, but i think most cooking shows do tell you how much of each ingredient they are adding.

oh...but i just started watching the show. i didn't realize he was going to a restaurant to see how to make a dish. In those situations they rarely tell you the recipe during the segment, but you can usually find them online

I am afraid that this guy gave the impression that vegans like to go around humping after eating kale, all day to burn calories!
However he does not make cringe harder than Sandra Lee on her new bar/drinking/pub show. If anyone wants to see a train wreck watch Sandra Lee try to act cool with 20-somethings while getting drunk.

I only heard vegan mentioned once, when his friend came over to give him a hard time. The representation of Vegan in this show is horrible! It's more of a lets talk about every fad health super food on the market and make it seem like it will save your life.
Maybe we should all just quit our jobs and stay home humping all day? With cacoa, kale, and avocado pudding!
Every time he said cacoa I couldn't help but think about Portlandia...Cacoa!

We watched St. Eats (I think) before and they had a vegan food truck on from Cali. Deep fried mango sticks with a dipping sauce. Everything they made looked amazing! Seabirdstruck.com

Everything they made looked amazing! Seabirdstruck.com Ya, that ep. has played a few times now! Seabirds truck is SO FREAKING GOOD. They were on the 'great food truck' show...they made it like halfway through I think. I was happy for them. they are really nice gals that run/work that truck. Maybe on Wendsday I will treat myself to Seabirds. They usually post up at a business center not far from where I work. Anyways, now I am half scared, half anticipating this show. I have it taped on my DVR and was looking foward to watching it. Well, no matter how bad it is, I will always watch at least TWO episodes. It is tough to judge a show from just the pilot episode...sometimes the pilot is just terrible, and the rest of the episodes are different.

This is going to be an ongoing series, right? My DVR wouldn't even give me the option to record the series, just this one episode. I'll probably keep watching to see if it gets better, or to at least show that there's demand for it. I'll just come back here to complain afterwards.

It sounds like there are more than enough reasons to dislike the show without resorting to body snarking, which always sucks.

This guy is a friend of mine, and I believe he has the first plant based cooking show "EVER" on a major TV network. They are still in the pilot phase, if this month goes well and he gets enough response the network will pick him up for a season. So wanted to do some shameless pimpin'!
For Vegans this is a huge win, and I hope people will tune in and check out the show.
Did anyone catch the show? What did you think?
