Anyone have someone they recommend? I've heard so many conflicting recommendations, it's been like asking for a mechanic rec! Anyway, specifically for an elderly male cat who has taken to crapping randomly on the floor and probably needs to have various things checked out. (I wish there was a vet who has bulk rates, 'cause I've got 4 old gents age 12+.)

Why not just take it to Lenox Hill in Manhattan?

If you really insist on Brooklyn/Queens, you have to say how far you're actually willing to travel :P

We'd be driving, which is why Brooklyn/Queens is preferable. But what really matters is finding a decent place and I would really love some recommendations that are cat-specific.

I only know my dad's dog's vet, which I believe is on Crossbay Boulevard in Howard Beach. I could get that for you if you'd like.

Oh oh oh! I have a vet I really like in Brooklyn! They're called One Love Animal Hospital http://www.onelovevet.com/. I highly recommend Dr. Ryan or Dr. Humphreys. Both are excellent, SO friendly and no bullshiitake. They're open Saturdays and Sundays, too.

I highly highly recommend Dr Julie Morris at Animal Healing Arts in Carroll Gardens. I have taken all of my cats to her, and she nursed me and my boy, Wicket, through his eventual passing from kidney failure. One of her staff even volunteered to come in on their days off when he needed to be admitted for intravenous fluids, because I couldn't afford to take him to the ER. She also detected early signs of heart disease in one of my other babies, which has most likely saved her a lot of health problems in the future.
I had to stop going to her after I moved to Greenpoint, because I don't have a car anymore and it's super inaccessible for me now... But she is the best vet I've ever had, and I miss her so.
