Monopoly is getting rid of one of their iconic tokens and replacing it with a new one.

I feel like this is not even a question for 75% of the PPK.

Aren't the tokens supposed to be rich person status symbols? I love me some cats, but they're not usually a status symbol (and thank goodness for that).

I suspect the game I grew up with was missing several pieces because wheelbarrow isn't ringing any bells.

I have an entire closet dedicated to board games. Not one Monopoly in there.

I liked the robot until I realized it had a Rich Uncle Pennybags mustache. That's just a little bit too on the nose...under the nose...that's just a little bit too on the lip for my tastes.

It's a terrible game. It is the world's most popular terrible board game.

i'm much more concerned about which of the existing tokens they're getting rid of. now i have to take extra good care of my set. [checks to make sure all pieces are accounted for]

so, my set has a guy riding a horse instead of a wheelbarrow. i never even noticed that before, because i always grab the iron, but now that i know i don't like it one bit.

I love Monopoly. I used to be a Monopoly master but honestly, I can't play it versus anyone anymore because I am too competitive.

I have never enjoyed a game of Monopoly. I've played it, but I've never enjoyed it.

I hate Monopoly, but not as much as I hate Scrabble. They are the Scylla and Charybdis of terrible board games, upon which most people's love of board games is dashed before it can even develop. The rocky shores of Monopoly and Scrabble are just littered with dead board game love fetuses.

If they ditch the thimble I will be sad, even though I like to be the hat, thimble's a close second.

I haven't played it since I was like, 10. I think of the old set, my preference was for the thimble but since I was never that gung ho about my game piece or the game itself, I usually took what no one else wanted and then lost the game and never cared. I also stole money from the bank to see if that would improve my game but I STILL lost.

I love Monopoly. I especially love being able to buy all the houses so nobody else can build anything or upgrade to hotels. Then I wonder why nobody will play with me.

Robot needs to lose the dippy mustache. What they need is a parrot token.

Last time I played with my biofather (I was probably 12 or so), I had all the properties that he needed for a monopoly, I refused to trade with him. He threw his property cards on the table and left the room.

Do you really like Monopoly, though? I mean, think about it. Think about whether you're just saying what the propagandists at Hasbro want you to say. Think about whether you love a game whose creation is credited to a man, when, in fact, it was an uninspired reskinning of a game created by a woman. A game created, I will have you know, to upset us by the conclusion, to cause us to protest against the unfairness of it all, to underscore that landed property owners are rich not by virtue of any great merit on their part, but through luck.

Think about whether you actually do like the patriarchy. THINK ABOUT IT.
