I don't have a couchsurfing account, mostly because I'm too lazy to constantly keep the house clean enough for guests.
But, I have a couch & 1-person mattress available for PPK'ers. Bazu and pandacookie have used it! I promise I will clean if people come! I have 3 cats though, so if you have allergies that might be a problem.

Hi! My boyfriend and I are moving from Minneapolis to Seattle, but we have kind of a complicated itinerary. Anyway, we are looking for a place to stay in Tacoma or Port Townsend or anywhere in between for a night or two. We will have a giant truck. We're both on couchsurfing: http://www.couchsurfing.org/people/allisonbchapman/http://www.couchsurfing.org/people/tstone12/Would anyone be willing to host us for a couple of nights or have suggestions of couchsurfers who might be able to host us?

When I move to a different place I'd love to host, also. Anyone want to be my friend on it or vouch for me? :)

It's supposed to be something you do for people you really feel like you can trust, and if they are a great host/surfer. So it should be used sparingly!

Yeah for sure, I think I just used the terminology wrong. I was just thinking something in that friend-y section on the left, not the one on the right. :)

It can be good, bad or negative, and in my opinion should be honest and given every time you've stayed with or hosted someone. Vouching, is the "ultimate trust thing", and should be used as I wrote before. Have fun surfing!

I'm cursed! (now I feel bad! I'm such a terrible host!) actually the guest was not bad. But I was too tired - Couchsurfing can be nervously demanding sometimes

A good guest shouldn't cause you to feel like you want to kill them--even if you're tired! And they also wouldn't use your computer without asking.
I might possibly have a potential trip to Portland, Seattle, and/or Vancouver coming up in July or August. So if you're in those places, you might have yourself a couch surfer who will cook you dinner and bake you cookies! The trip is in it's real initial planning stages, so it might not happen. but knowing that I have a place to stay would help convince me to do it!

Bristol isn't much of a tourist destination (although we seem to get a fair few backpackers in the summer) but we could possibly give you a floor to sleep on!

Anywhere really. Bristol sounds like fun! Ive only been to London, Canterbury and Oxford (and loved those, would go there again, too), while I love the UK.

Whoa, this is super cool. I'm trying to plan a little vacation/roadtrip over the summer for me and my boy, but we don't have lots of money to spend on things like hotels, etc. I was planning on camping and sleeping in the back of my van, but spending a night or two on a couch would be awesome. I'll have to set up a couchsurfer profile. I live in Towson, MD, close to Baltimore. I was thinking about going to New York City, or somewhere more southern.

and I slept on pretty horrible floors. in London I slept on a tiny piece of floor where I couldnt strech out my legs and had to get up if someone opened the door.
