I feel dumb. I bought Tang and big jugs of water so I can give it to the kids tomorrow to kick off the astronomy unit with a NASA day. I neglected to see how much Tang the package would make and I don't have enough. Gah!

My closet is so forking beautiful right now, it's taking effort to not jump up, open its doors, and stare at its glory. It's all ordered and shiitake, and my shoes are all confined, and my dolls and stuffed animals (except for the monkeys, that's for tomorrow) are all on the shelf all happy and organized. ALL of my clothes are in their place, finally.

I just tasted some. I'm not sure if it's kinda good or kinda gross.

While I was heating up my dinner (just got home from work), dad snuck out and bought another jar, so I'm saved. When I came home tonight, he was mixing it all up for me.

I happen to live in a small-ish city with not a lot of opportunities for my particular degree (BFA, MA in photography, so visual art to the general public) and it took me almost 5 years to get a job even close to my field. Granted, teaching art to children in after school programs and working in a gallery are most definitely not what I had in mind for myself when I graduated, but I'm grateful to have any job in the arts at this point. And, of course, there's always waiting tables for money in the meantime, even though it sucks. That's what paid all of my bills for the past 4 years.

It took me 9 months to find a job after I graduated, and it's nowhere near my field (which, frankly, I didn't expect anyway). But I did have several years of experience in the field I was applying for. I know you've been looking for more than just the past 2 months, but December and January are probably the worst months for recruitment - no one recruits because they think no one is looking. We have 2 posts up right now, both up for a week, and we've received one application (over the 2 posts).

My Kindle died, and I didn't realise until I sat down to read at lunchtime. :( I'm not having luck with technology - my iPod died as soon as I got to work yesterday. At least they didn't both go on the same day.

Thanks! I've really only been applying since November, so yeah it has not been that long and it was thanksgiving and christmas and all that. I guess that's good news for me about people not applying right now in case I do see a posting I'm interested in.
