I was just getting off work and one of my cute snuggle friends came in to shop. I walked with him while he got his stuff and we chatted and then he ended up coming over to my place and we watched some TV and snuggled. I ended up falling asleep like five minutes into the second episode all snuggly on him and when I woke up I guess the episode had been over for 15 minutes. Heh. He thought it was cute and I feel really well-rested!

I got offered a volunteer role at pretty much my dream organisation to work for. It's only for a few months, but getting to know the people there is always a huge plus. It'll be a fair bit on my plate until April, but so worthwhile!
Also I started a new job this week (a different team in the same broader office) and I love it so much more than my previous job. It's all about ensuring the accessibility and affordability of healthy food in remote Indigenous communities, and it's so refreshing to actually do something that I really care about. And my new workmates are all super lovely. 2013 is looking like a good year!

When dropping off a chest freezer to a no kill shelter (I feel like a proper vegan today) I met a cute little puppy! He sat on my feet while the lady talked to (at) me for like 20 mins.

I lost too much weigh to wear (attractively, anyway) any of my winter coats, so I've just been kind of cold and layering lately. I've had my eye on one at American Eagle for a few months, and just found it on sale for $40 (originally $130). It's comfy and warm and awesome!

Surgeons are super duper pleased with my healing. They were all saying how usually on the first followup the patient looks not so great and complains a lot about fatigue and pain and discomfort and I was the opposite.
Also, saw my orthodontist who is suddenly pregnant and very adorable. She was also thrilled with my progress.

Okay, this is a totally weird one, but it was the best. I told one of my best friends about a traumatic experience I had as a kid, and instead of being like "awwwww I'm so sorry" like you'd expect, ze made a joke about it and it was so perfect I just started laughing my face off...partly because I just could not believe ze'd had the balls to make a joke about it and partly because what ze said was completely hilarious. It was the first time I've ever been able to laugh about this particular event, and I had no idea how badly I needed that. Wow.

Today was just so good. I can rarely say, honestly, that my life is awesome. But I am so feeling it today/tonight. I have so many amazing opportunities and choices to make. None of them are wrong, just different. I love it. The very few things I imagined for myself are happening... I just had to release myself from the constraints of an office job and be open to things. It's pretty amazing. I am SO happy with my life right now and super happy with the choices I've made in the last 3-4 months (I was having trouble coming to terms with them previously, but now I know they were right).

Got lots of boring adult stuff accomplished like bank and landlord stuff. Felt good about that. Then texted this guy that I chatted with a couple days ago on a gay hookup website and initiated we go get a drink. He was so cute and it was definitely super awkward but I managed to be the kind of confident making the decisions kind of person that I struggle so much at being. We made out lots and damn he was so cute! And I left things at just making out but with talks of sex stuffs so it's all in the open and easy. I'm kind of excited to see what happens when I keep things a little less slutty than I normally do. Of course being a slut is my favorite thing ever so it doesn't really matter, but we'll see!

The oral surgeon thinks things are finally healing properly, and that the last bit of pain I have should go away on its own in the next week or two.

So far--apple cinnamon muffin! A wonderful local bakery/cafe opened in a very convenient location for me, and I stopped by this morning on my way to work. I'm all full and sugared up and happy. The only thing that could make it better would be if I were now and home back in bed.
