I'm moving back after about 10 years away. I know the main grocery store in Trump Village is still closed, but are there any good markets or restaurants around that I should know about?

I live in South Brooklyn, and while it is pretty tough to find a ton of vegan resources around CI, there is a big Pathmark located near the Belt Parkway on Cropsey that does have produce, etc. I shop at Apple Tree on 3rd Avenue in Bay Ridge for harder to find items, like Daiya.
Also, CI was hit pretty hard by Sandy, so not every business is up and running again. Good Luck!

Ooh, I used to hang out in Trump when I was a teen. That first bench on ocean parkway and and Neptune. Sit there for me!

I know that bench! I suspect we hung out across the street from each other twenty years ago and didn't know it. Pity, I would have been vegan way earlier!

Were you a metal head? The metal bench was across the street.

Oh i sat on the metal bench! In the 90's.
i'm in Gravesend. There's a store on Brighton Beach Ave called Erik's Health food that has everything Bob's Red Mill makes, and tons of supplements. I go there sometimes, also the Flatbush food co-op (you don't have to be a member to shop there). There's a farmers market outside the Coney Island Hospital Friday mornings, which must be great for people who don't have work then unlike myself.

That Eric's place looks great, thanks!
The Cortelyou farmer's market is open on Sunday and takes compost, so even though it's not exactly close, I'll definitely be hitting it up.
