details at the website. you can enter as a contestant until february 1, or you can buy a ticket ($12) and just eat all the things. i wish the idea of preparing enough food for 250 tasting samples weren't so overwhelming to me; this would be such a great way to break in my cakepop pans.

250 samples is a lot to make! It sounds fun though! Good luck, SSD!

I'm thinking about entering. But I'd have to get off from work in order to do it. Also, when they say 250 samples, does that mean 250 of whatever item or you could you cut things into pieces to make 250 samples, because I think that will help me decide if i should try it or not.

I'm sure it's 250 samples, so if you wanted to make cakes you would just have to make sure you baked enough to end up with 250 tasting pieces. Unless I come by the booth, in which case it meant an entire cake per person. Thanks!

Thanks, acr!
I agree. If you make one big cake, you can cut it into 250 pieces, but it may be weird to give each person half a cookie.
I'm not 100% sure yet, joyfulgirl. Are you going?

i dont think giving a half cookie is weird. or even a quarter cookie. if it's supposed to be a sample, then i dont think anyone would expect whole stuff. but mini cookies might also be an option.

Can't you just make the cookies smaller if it's cookies? I haven't decided if I'm going yet. but I really want to!

I hope to see you there!
Yeah, for presentation, I'd try to go with smaller cookies as long as they aren't so small they'd burn in three minutes.

I registered but never heard back. I'm ok with that though, cause as much fun as it would have been, I was worried about the expense of making that many samples. I'll just be working instead.

Update: I made raspberry hazelnut brownies and did not win, but received enough positive feedback to feel like I wasn't totally stupid for entering and would do it again. And I saw acr! Was anyone else from the PPK there? What did you all think of the entries?
