raspberry, GORGEOUS.
i'm stuck in fayetteville nc. it didn't snow a single flake last year and it's been mostly in the 50s and 60s so far this "winter." it's 50 right now but they're saying it's going to snow a tiny bit tonight (from like midnight to 3am). I need snow or I will freak out.

Plus the snow we get is pathetic. If I can't make a snowman out of it, then it's worthless in my book! I agree with all of this 100%. I hate it when it snows here. It's such a pathetic amount, and it's never cold enough to stick, so it's just ridiculously slick roads and then gross dirty slush. Where I grew up on the prairies, it would snow heaps, and it was really, really cold so it would pile up and you could play in/admire it/have traction while driving. Then several days later, there would be a massive chinook (a very fierce warm wind that comes channeling through the mountains onto the prairies) and it would clean it all up. That's what I consider an efficient weather system. This wet shiitake on the coast is balls.

We were supposed to be dumped on today but looks like the storm is staying a little bit south so at most, we might have 1-2" of snow. I miss snow, I haven't seen any this year.

Currently -26 C (-15 F and getting colder). It makes me feel all curmudgeony and it's exactly why I hate winter.

Well, we had rain for a solid week. Everything was flooded and/or overflowing. Part of one of the main roads through the Smokies is completely gone, due to a ragingly out of control river. Now it is snowing AND thundering. There is a nice layer of water, then sleet, then snow on all the roads. They aren't icy yet, but they are a little slippery.
Last week it was in the mid/high 60s.
After about the fourth straight day of rain, I ordered some rain boots for trudging around school in. I guess now they are snow boots.

This rain is killing me. I don't mind rain really.... it is just how muddy and flooded it makes my garden then the dog running in all excited when I get home means my entire house gets plastered in mud. The past two evenings I have had to wash down my kitchen units.

Wet. My dogs don't like to go out in the rain to pee. And I was suppose to go shopping today. And hubby fell off his bike when he hit a curb that was covered in water, or something, I don't know and he came home drenched. And I'm sure something I own that's suppose to stay dry is now flooded or is getting dripped on but I don't want to check because I don't want to get out in all that wet.

I'm driving through this tomorrow! (Yes if deadly animals don't scare you don't worry, every summer Australia bursts into flames). Sydney hit 46C today.

o_0 It's 5C in my kitchen right now. It's really hard for me to fathom temperatures like this. Stay safe and hydrated, caterpillar!

This country is in a constant state of being either on fire, or underwater.
Whoever handles the air-conditioning in my office is clearly terrified of the slightest hint of warmth. I was wearing a cardigan and clutching a mug of coffee at my desk today and I was still cold. Then I inevitably forget that it's summer and wander out into the 40 degree heat all rugged up, where I sort of flail in panic for a minute as I struggle to tear all my excess layers off.

So, no snow. The local news is pre-empting all of GMA to show accident coverage and whatever. Last night it POURED and it was so cold. It was like 40 with a wind chill of 23. It didn't snow at all here last year and this year's looking snowless too. I'm going to lose it.

It appears to be snowing everywhere in the UK apart from where I live. The weather forecast said we would have snow by midday: it's 6.30 now and still no snow. It is bloody cold though.

It is going to be -40 C until Thursday next week.
I'm going to the sauna and not coming out until Friday.

I'm going to the sauna and not coming out until Friday. I feel your pain. I'm so happy it doesn't usually get that cold here (although it is coastal cold so it feels colder than the dry inland cold). Every winter the temperature will inevitably drop below -20, but it rarely goes below -30 C. Not that it matters much to me if it's -30 or -40. Both translates as "it's too bloody cold can I just crawl up and die now?". It doesn't help that I have old frost damage on hands and feet so cold weather can be physically painful for me despite decent winter gear. Today was a good day, though. Just a couple of degrees below freezing with big, lazy postcard snowflakes.

I'll take the dry -25°C last night over the windy -1°C when I was last in Stockholm. The latter felt much colder, even though I was actually wearing an extra layer then. Apart from my nostrils freezing together while biking maybe.

NATURAL ICE SKATING RINKS all over the place. Hooray! for frozen canals, neighborhood ponds, lakes, everything. You can see cracks in the ice going down forever, and also frozen bubbles. So awesome.

Today is really nice! 51F and sunny. Cool enough to not sweat through my clothes when I step outside and warm enough to not need layers or a jacket or shoes. Okay, mom, I'll put on shoes.

Brrrrrrrrrr. It's cold here today. Apparently it could snow tonight. I'm really praying it doesn't because I have no money for oil to put the heating on and I am just out of coal. I'm on a super broke week.... I only have enough money to pay the bills for the next 3 weeks thanks to having to change cars so can't afford to go buy coal for the fire either.

It's been snowing all day here. Not heavy, but constant. Just enough to make it difficult to get to work tomorrow, but not enough to justify not going. Bah.
