Incase anyone hasn't heard.... in the UK and Ireland there is a right old ruckus going on because a heck of a lot of beef burgers have been found to contain a substantial amount of horse meat. I for one am rubbing my hands in glee and getting a little payback on any omnis that have said to me "but you don't know what is in that" about faux meats or cheeses or even tofu. Smug annoying vegan over here! But to the point of this thread.... I'm creasing myself laughing at this video because I'm incredibly childish at times. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=10151235461121045&set=vb.656976044&type=2&theater

I get it, but I don't get it.
You're eating meat from a cow. So what.
You're eating meat from a horse. OH MY GOD!
You're eating meat from a pig. Yeah, and?
You're eating meat from a dog. I AM GOING TO BE SICK!

The pork thing bothered me more (pig DNA found in almost all beef as well), as many Jewish, Rastafarian and Muslim people do not eat pork under any circumstances, even if they skim on other kosher/halal bits. Which I think they neatly danced around in the news.

Ha! Exactly. It is hilarious how omni's decide it is ok to eat some animals but are outraged at the thought of eating other animals. Another rob from Facebook... Quote: Tesco horse burgers!? What's next my lidl pony?

I feel angry on behalf of those that don't eat pork for religious reasons.

Pigs are all, "Yeah. We feel terrible for those people." Then they give you a sarcastic glare.
You know how pigs are. I don't need to tell you guys.

You're eating meat from a dog. I AM GOING TO BE SICK! Just what I was thinking. It's odd how cultural taboos can be so strong, even overriding the rather obvious fact that the distinction is completely arbitrary and nonsensical.

i'm more bothered by this sort of logical inconsistency among meat eaters than i am by the fact that they're eating meat in the first place. my sister always tries to throw it in my face that she stopped eating meat before i did, but it was (and is) only some meat, and when i try to discuss that point, her comeback is something like, "well, at least i cared a little, when you didn't care at all." yes. you get one moral-victory point for your head start. but i'm still confused about why you stopped at a little.

Some moral accomplishment. I stopped kicking some puppies. I do just as much puppy kicking, but I leave that batch alone.
