Fish and chips! Eppy's Dungeon Master wanted it for dinner the other night and I was like "wait, before you go find some actual fish and chips, let's just make it on Sunday!" so yeah, i'm gonna deep fry tonight. I'm ready to have a greasy face and a house that smells like oil. it's gonna be delish!

Baked broccoli polenta with marinara sauce, served with tomato and cucumber salad with tahini dressing, and apricot baked apples for dessert. All from Supermarket Vegan. I'm a lazy cook, but I like good food.

Better mashed potatoes tonight. These ones had garlic and were hand mashed rather than put in a blender (how awful that turned out). And gravy!

Bocas marinated in fruit juice and barbecue sauce, topped with caramelized onions. And French fries. Eaten while watching Downton Abbey. Sundays rule.

I made Julialegume a quick Maykaidee Tom Kha and later for myself, a soy & fermented black bean sauce tofu and baby bok choi over vermicelli, which I somehow overcooked?!? and then had over jasmine rice.

There are a few foods that I LOVE to eat but hate preparing. One of them is artichokes. During the seven years my partner and I have been together, while I've hacked away madly at globe artichokes and tragically burnt mini chokes, he's always told me what an expert he is at preparing them, but has never taken the incentive to prove it to me.
Well, today I was surprised with the most beautifully cooked artichokes served with a lemon-garlic-cayenne EB dip along with super garlicky (garlic is the way to my heart) scalloped potatoes. We had some of the sesame tofu I made with it but I was just all about the potatoes and artichoke. I had to work late and I was SO grateful for the delicious contribution.

I bowl'd it up tonight: barley, lentils, kale with caramelized onions, and a chunky peanut sauce.

Last night I made the Pineapple Rasam from the Penzeys winter catalog. We are huge rasam fans and pineapple is my spouse's favorite fruit, so we were excited. It was good, but next time I would add some asafoetida or curry leaves. It was also the first rasam I've ever made that didn't have some dall in it. I'm tempted to add pigeon peas or red lentils next time too. I upped the heat, which I will do again for sure. We had some rice and other things too, but pineapple rasam was the new thing for us.
