My gym's similar class to Pump is called Group Power. I haven't tried it but I've tried the equivalent to the Combat. I've started doing the Body Pump DVDs at home and so far I really like them.

Has anyone done CXWORX? I just signed up for a trial at a new gym yesterday and they were telling me about this class. I thought it sounded good because I want to tone my core muscles a bit, and it only being a 30 minute class is a huge plus for me since I'll probably go before or straight after work (when I really just want to go home and make dinner). But I'm scared that it'll be too hard since my core sucks. I looked up a couple of YouTube videos and everyone in them is massive and super fit, which doesn't really allay my fears. I need a video of unfit, uncoordinated people flailing around haphazardly.

I did my first Pump class the night before last! It was super fun, and the instructors were awesome and really helpful. But I'm hurting in places I didn't even know were possible now! Kind of bummed because I wanted to go back to another class this morning, but I guess I'll have to wait until Monday.

I did CXWORX on Friday! I wasn't planning on it but I went into my gym after work and the girls at the front desk were like 'YAY YOU CAME FOR CXWORX' and then pretty much yelled at me until I dragged myself in there. It was kind of hard, but only in the sense that your first class of anything is hard. I just kind of felt like I was flailing around and not doing it right. But I'm pretty sore now so I guess I didn't do it completely wrong. I thought it would be my abdominal muscles hurting, but it's pretty much everything else that I didn't even know I was working during the class! My back and sides, mainly. But yeah, it was fun and I'll do it again.

Has anyone done the new release of body pump yet? The lunge track with those jumping squats?? OWWWWW! and as usual the shoulder track is a killer that I couldn't do all of because of my shoulder injury.

That shoulder track is destroying me. We've been doing it for a couple of weeks and I still can't do the whole thing without stopping. Even the instructors are struggling with it. I like the new lunge track though, just because my hips are weird and struggle with heaps of normal lunges.

I did the whole of the shoulder track last night without stopping during the overhead raises at the end, I think that's a first!
Also, for some reason I thought it was a good idea to triple my start weight for squats, normally I double it. My arse and thighs are not happy with me this morning. Yeowch.

I'm doing Body Pump 2 - 3x's a week and this release shoulders, biceps and lunges are killing me. Big time. The last few releases had the jumping squats and such so I was expecting it. The triceps track is poopy and the chest track is okay, a little tough for me when I added weight this week.
I just started Body Combat 3 weeks ago when they added it at my gym. It's friggin killing me. My shoulders hurt so much! But I love it. Once March hits I won't be able to go anymore because of my seasonal job, so I'm thinking of getting the home workout but I can't decide if it's worth it. Also I can't decide if I should just get the DVD's or join a challenge group, with a coach, which is $100 but the motivational aspect would be helpful as I DO NOT workout at home. I just won't do it. That's how I gained over a hundred pounds to begin with.
I haven't tried Jam. It's only offered at a gym that's 20 miles away and that's a bit far. And I want to try Attack but it's also not offered where I go and is kinda far away. One day I'll get there!

I love jumps in the lunge track! But only because I hate regular lunges. I have dodgy hips and they sometimes get really strained when it's all just lunges, so jumps are a welcome break for me. I think I'm pretty alone in my jump love though- our instructor mentioned the other day that the next release has no jumps, and everyone cheered except for me. So lonely!
I also did Grit for the first time tonight. I thought I really sucked at it but the other people in the group said I looked pretty good for the first time, which is nice. It was hard, but doable other than burpees which I'm apparently too uncoordinated for. It was pretty good, but I think I'll like it better after I've tried it again and I know what I'm doing.
