Omg poopiebaby is too much..thanking the doctor! Glad he is doing so well. I was just telling someone about you about a month ago, this lady who was really struggling with her five or six week old. Your journey is really amazing!

Yay for little westie doing well too!

And Happy Birthday Inez!

I'm so behind on here, so I'm just going to butt in with my update...
At 11.5 months old, Will is finally crawling on all fours regularly, eating and nursing like a champ, still not too fond of sippys or cups (but they make fun toys!), playing tug with the dog, tears apart the kitchen cupboards.

He has his first major cold and I took him to the doc yesterday... "how many colds has he had this winter?" I was pretty happy to be able to answer with "this is his first one!"

Other than that, things are pretty fun in our little world!

I wish everyone could have wonderful sleeping babies!
I really don't expect it to last but I am appreciating every day that she does it!

Poopiebaby at the doctor sounds like the cutest thing ever, and no crying or fussing over shots, that is so awesome!

The Magician turned 1 today! He's gone from this:

This time last year, I had seen him for about 30 seconds total-- after which he had been whisked away to the mini-NICU before I'd been able to do so much as touch him. He ended up being fine (of course) but we were all so scared. It's so weird to think about it looking back. He is such a healthy, robust, cheerful baby. Sometimes I wonder if somehow he knows that it was a close call and knows he's got to enjoy what he's got...

We had a fun low-key day (birthday party sometime next month) and soon it'll be time for snuggles and sleepy time. Man, do I love this baby.

So, Freya got a coin on Friday from our neighbor as a treat/thank you for a favor. Two days now, she has been toddling around the house chanting "money, money, money". Oh dear. Yesterday I bought her a piggy bank and we put some other change in there, over and over again. :)

She is growing up fast. I told Karl about how when just she and I went coat shopping on Sunday, she was walking all around and then hung out by this sofa/table near the till when I was checking out. She toddled over to me at the end and then we turned to go on our way, and someone had dared to sit in her seat at the sofa. She walked right up to this complete stranger and patted the arm of the sofa and looked at him, and then they had a whole conversation. It was unbelievable. Favorite "grownup" thing lately is handing the bus ticket to the driver and then getting it back (return ticket). Also, putting the stuff on the conveyor belt at the grocery store, her little arms stretching like mad. More fun than a barrel of monkeys. I've tried like three times now to get money, money on camera, but so far I only have "mon, mon....shake shake" (shaking the piggy bank).

Thanks for the birthday wishes! We just got back from his 1 year check and apparently for his birthday he got a double ear infection. Unlucky!

He is 31.5 inches tall, about 23.5 lbs, and 95th percentile for head.

I had a little bit of a meltdown when I realized he's too tall for his baby carseat now, and that he's the last baby that will go in it.

It's so unexpected when they outgrow their car seat! We're in the same position - our older one is now in a booster, and we had little Z in an infant seat, but he was like 3 lbs off of being too heavy, so we've switched to a rear-facing toddler seat. Already? Really little guys? They grow so fast!

Anyway, hope you guys are all really enjoying the day! (Other than ear infections! :( Sad!)

Oh, sorry to hear about the ears! Hope he's not feeling too poopy. The car seat thing hit us too (though we ended up keeping her in it wayyyy too long).

Well, I'm sorta embarrassed/horrified to find we should have switched him sometime between 9 months and now. He was just about 30 inches then, which is apparently what his infant seat goes to. I thought it was like 34! We switched E right around that age because he was approaching the weight limit, so I guess I just thought, oh, he's so light (by comparison), no need to rush it. Derp.
