You can probably buy Frank's way cheaper there though. I will give you that.

$4 a jar is totes a good deal. I get a crazy good deal in my 'hood $6 for 32oz, but that's generally unheard of.

I'm just used to thinking all the things in America being cheaper and awesomer than some random shop here. I didn't mean to knock zwingtip's bulk-buying brilliance!

I paid $5 for a large bottle of Franks this morning at the closest normal grocery store.

It is left as an exercise to the reader to determine whether this is cheaper.

Is mango supposed to taste like parsnip? And is it usually so stringy?

Find yourself an ataulfo mango. They aren't stringy, and when they are ripe, they are great. There's also a time of year when California mangoes are delicious, but it's been too long since I was a produce manager for me to remember when that is. Like avocados, it's often difficult to gage a mango's ripeness. Especially when they have been imported.

Dude. If it happens you are required to change your flight plans. I don't even care if you have classes or whatever. REQUIRED.

My dad always gets the best mangoes. I think it's like super Jamaican mango intuition or something. The ones sold at the grocery store I work at are flavorless and stringy and have very little fruit at all.

You say this now, but I totally would fly out for one day if it wasn't a Monday.

Sadly, I think I love Middle English Prof a little bit more than you or Suede. But only a little bit.

truths. I bought an imported ataulfo mango yesterday and it looked perfect. I cut it open and the flesh was brown! ewwww and what a waste of $$$.

Dudes, I can't sleep. My first alarm is due to go off in 2.5 hours. Is it worth even trying now? I'm thinking of going for a wee wander to the 24hr supermarket instead to pass the time...

Yeah, those are so good. I could really use a mango right now.

Maybe I won't go the supermarket. Maybe I'll just pickle things.

I wish I had such intuition. I'd also like a similar avocado intuition. They're the hardest fruits to intuit.

I say a ripe, sweet, perfect mango is better than a cherry, even. And sweet cherries are my favorite fruit EVAR. The only thing that can beat them is a proper mango.

My mom doesn't have avocado intuition because she bought me a spoiled avocado. I've never had a spoiled one before! It smelled... interesting. It looked and felt fine so I had to just trust my nose and toss it out, which made me sad, because I forking love avocado.

My dad used to eat avocados straight up, slices off pieces as he went, like he eats his mangoes. I remember being little and asking him what it was and he was like "It's fruit" and offered me a piece. There I was thinking it was like a mango and I end up with the plant version of butter in my mouth. Did not want at the time.

Big salad last night for dinner.

Big bowl of soy ice cream to balance that shiitake out.

Avocado intuition is the only fruit intuition I have! I regularly buy mealy apples, hard as rocks pears, stringy mangos, flavorless melons... I even buy in season and still fail at it. Avocados and bananas are the only ones I ever get right. And bananas are kind of a gimme, aren't they?

Two days off work has me spoiled. I am dreading going anywhere today. Mostly because the high is 20°F and I hate it. I HATE WINTER. Shew, glad I got that off my chest.
