I started a new job today and everyone was super-dooper friendly! I'm actually looking forward to going back tomorrow.

Crazy weird yoga. (Seriously! Different than any other yoga I've ever done! We pushed blankets around by running with our hands on them in downward facing dog!)

Whaaat?! Rad!

I played tennis (outside! In January! Crazy!) and then had a lovely salad and then did yoga and stuff.
Awesome day.

I found $20 on the street while riding my bike to my shitty job! And I got the character sheet for the character I will play at a friend's murder mystery birthday next weekend and I am a killer(!) This sounds like it will be ultra fun. I've never been to a murder mystery party before. My partner has, and claims they're really fun. He is also invited and from what I can tell from the overview of characters, it seems like they did an AWESOME job casting him (as a Puck/impish fairy). Of course, I can't see his character sheet, so I have no idea if his role is as fun as mine.

President Obama's ringing endorsement of equal rights for gay marriage during his inaugural speech was the best thing about my day.
Not having to leave the house on the coldest day of this winter was the second best thing.

I had pizza and wine with my two newish best friends/coworkers and it is always so fun to be with them. We are all extremely different and it is really nice that we get along so well as a trio. Plus, I haven't had many close friends that are girls (who live nearby--I have amazing amazing long-distance friends!) for a while, but these ladies have my back.

I am so excited for my wedding because me dearest friends will all meet each other because it's mostly a tiny affair. I was gushing about jlegume and jdfunks to them tonight (because one friend is obsessed with Oregon) and it was so exciting to know that they will be hanging out together in March.

There's really nothing like an impromptu three-person, two-dog dance party. Damn that Big Pimpin' playlist is getting some good use.

I felt shy about asking, but since it's the most important thing in my life, I went ahead and did ask my doctor to write a letter to help with the last last immigration paperwork I have to do. (Petitioning for a waiver to allow Wilson to enter the country/I have to prove that I'm going through extreme hardship.) Not only is the letter ready, but I'm pretty sure it's perfect.

Thanks, Kelly! I just have to get through 3-4 months while they consider this petition. Which is why I'm thinking about cutting my hair and then waiting for it to grow. Or maybe I'll get really in to hockey.

i screwed up my courage to talk to the super-runner lady at my gym. considering that i was a wreck because of the Crazy Lady at the gym, i never thought i would talk to anybody. And guess what- she didn't give me any shiitake about my accent.

Also, not a best-of thing, but guess what? i wrote a check today. for the first time in maybe 6 years. it was really weird.

Get really in to hockey! There are like a million games a day for the next 3-4 months!

That's what I was thinking, vijita! I was kind of listening to the news the morning (wondering where the snowstorm went) and noticed that the Bruins are everywhere right now. I know what a hat trick is and um, an enforcer! So, I'm good to start out, right?

In addition to my best thing, I heard back from the lawyer who's been advising me, and he said the doctor's letter is perfect, too!

You should definitely aim to be ironic and be anything but a Boston Fan.

Would you prefer she be a Leafs fan? Or maybe the Flames?

Really? As a Vancouverite my hatred of the Leafs is at least on par with my hatred of the Flames.

We had an all hands meeting at work - and you never know what those are going to be about....anyway it was about how well we are doing, then a 5 piece mariachi band came in playing and a TON of mexican food! I already ate so I didn't have to do the awkward vegan inquiries, but it was pretty rad! Also we're all allowed to leave now.
