So yesterday I was stressing out because I really needed $130.
Today, a refund check came from school.
It was for $140.

See, that would have been my worst thing because I just hate mariachi so. much.

I must be full of luck today! Tomorrow, I have to go and fill out a bunch of paperwork for my new job. I need to bring in a whole bunch of documents to prove that I'm not a criminal, and for the longest time, I've been unable to find probably THE most important document. I just found it. In a box, on top of the dryer. I was quickly cleaning up to prepare for a bunch of people coming over, and I threw a bunch of crepe in a box and forgot about it.

Got a lot accomplished today! All of it involving getting rid of stuff (goodwill, buffalo exchange etc). Woot.

It was for $140. How perfect! And congrats on finding the document you needed too. I know how stressful searching for that piece of misplaced paperwork can be.

It isn't that they might be a threat (cause come on!) but more because coverage (of everything!) is so god damned Toronto-centric that I have a deep and abiding hatred for the Leafs. Which will be interesting if I end up at York next year... That being said, I kind of hate hockey these days so it's no big thang.

In the five hours since I put Peter to bed, I've baked and assembled two batches of petit fours which are now being pressed in the fridge to be cut and coated tomorrow, baked a double batch of brownies, made a double batch of chocolate chip cookie dough to bake tomorrow, made a batch of cinnamon rolls which are slow-rising in the fridge (to be baked tomorrow), and made three double batches of icing, plus washed all the dishes. The best part? Peter has stayed asleep the WHOLE TIME, even through my noisy banging around in the kitchen! I am tired.

Whoooa poopie, that is impressive!
My best thing was the appearance of tofu balls at the salad buffet. Yes, I know they are just the reheated leftovers form the vegetarian option we had on friday, but they were good, and also I am glad to finally know what the balls I ate on friday were, since they tasted very much like meat.

I'm spending the week work-shadowing people as induction to my new job, and I spent the morning with four kids with very specific additional educational needs AND IT WAS SO AWESOME. I hope I'm put with that group again. I've also been told that if they can find the funding, in the future there's a possibility that they'll pay for me to go on a BSL or Makaton course. Yesterday was a difficult day with difficult kids, but it still was awesome.

Splurged on a Chinese massage since I'm so tense after the month of mouth stuff. I asked the woman to avoid my face (because of oral surgery foo) and so she did a lot of acupressure stuff instead. Soooo luxurious/nice. Wow.
ALSO discovered a snow-cleared natural ice rink in Stadspark surrounded by trees. Gonna go skate there tomorrow.

More natural ice skating! Surprise discovery that the lake outside of town is half-frozen and several someones had cut several km's of skate paths through the snow. Awesome. So awesome. Wish you'd been there with me, m'toes.

Yay for good stuff! Best thing today was buying Johnny Cash's childrens album. Its Johnny Cash singing about dinosaurs. I die laughing.

My thing happened yesterday! My boyfriend and I were invited over to accompany a friend a stranger's (strange to us, the friend knows them well) house to play board games. The couple we played with ended up being vegan! And they had 3 adorable and playful cats! And I tried a stuffed grape leaf (so tasty!) and won Carcassonne! I rarely win board games because I lack strategy most of the time, but my score was something like twice the second place person's. Also, the hostess made the chocolate tart from VPITS for us for dessert and it was so good. Such an enjoyable evening.
