In London, vegan food is pretty mainstream here. Pizza Hut will happily make your pizza without the cheese, MacDonalds and Burger King both do salads and will do a veggie burger without the mayo. Most of the snacks in the 99p and poundshops are vegan friendly, and we have Holland and Barrett, which is a healthfood type place, on most high streets. Plus Subway, which my brother swears make the best sandwiches in the world, and 'greasy spoons', cafe type places, they usually have something vegan on the menu, falafel or chips or something like that. They don't to health food even for omnis, so it's not for the calorie conscious.

This is great because it could be used to say vegan food is mainstream pretty much anywhere in the country. Even Stoke.

We have a 100% vegan cafe in Stoke so fork you forkers. Unfortunately it doesn't sell onion rings, but other than that it rocks.

It's not far from Burger King though, is it? You can just go after.

Tried to make two Camberwell additions to the map but I don't think they stuck :(

1. Angels & Gypsies - their blackened tofu burrito is the best in London in my opinion! The tortilla is homemade which makes it really special. Plus really good juices. But burritos only served weekday lunchtimes.

2. Maloko - new crêperie serving amazing vegan buckwheat crêpes with mushroom, spinach, quinoa, butternut squash and homemade cashew cheese! Lovely atmosphere and staff.

The Brixton/Camberwell area is a great place to be a vegan at the moment which these places + Ms Cupcake & Franco Manca a stone's throw away!

I can't find a general London thread but wanted to let you know about a new place opening in Camden at the end of August - Cakes n Treats. I believe there is one in Germany already and that they had a stall at Brighton VegFest so some of you may have already sampled their cakes etc.

(I haven't tried to add it to the map since its not actually open yet.)

Just discovered Senzala Creperie in Brixton Village. They've got three vegan options - can vouch for the mushroom & the guacomole - delicious! Hadn't heard of it before so wanted to put it on the 'vegan London map'. It's a cute quirky place with great music, friendly staff and veg*n wine. Loved their homemade chilli sauce so much I got through half a bottle and bought one to take home!

I noticed Banana Tree has a few vegan options marked on the menu. I haven't eaten there though.
