Yeah, I've totally noticed both the tempeh and tofus go up in price in my area.

Found a gluten-free all purpose flour mix in the "new stuff" endcap -- $3.99 for a pound. Not an earthshattering price but not bad either.

I always buy the wildwood-repackaged tofu at TJ's, and in the past month or so it's gone from 1.99/package to 2.49/package. I still buy it, but I'm def disappointed.

I was just at a TJ's today, which is rare for me. I usually send my man to TJ's...otherwise I buy the whole store.
I did notice that prices went up on a bunch of things. But honesly, prices there stayed pretty much the same during our recession, so I try to keep it in perspective. I mean, prices WILL go up right?
I also noticed that they sell the hummus in little 4-packs now! I usually make my own, but this is super convenient. Also, it was close to the same price as the big tub.
I grabbed some of the Moisturizing Cream. In process of getting new lotions, soaps etc that are vegan AND cruelty free, so hopefully, this will be good. I like it so far. God, trying to find stuff like this that is vegan, non-testing AND not owned by some terrible company AND not super expensive is tough. Maybe TJ's will be my saivour.

It's $2.49 where I am. I think it used to be $1.99, but I never checked. It's still almost half the price of the name brand at Whole Foods.

I made this cinnamon rolls this morning, and since they always unroll when I try to get them out of the can, I decided to add some fresh blueberries before rolling them back up. It was pretty good. And by pretty good I mean it took all of my will power not to lick the plate...after my third one.

The 2 buck chuck went up 50 cents as well. There was an article about it on AP press, haha.

Our tofu went up from $1.99 to $2.49 recently too. So it's not actually any cheaper now for me to buy it from TJs than a local store.
On the upside, I finally bought a bag of the coconut chips after thinking about it for months and they were fabulous.
(Most of what I buy at TJs is pretty unexciting stuff like canned beans and almonds.)
What are the vegan cheese shreds TJs has now? Repackaged Daiya or something else? I considered buying some today but wanted to check the PPK first!

I agree that they are repackaged Galaxy shreds, but I like them (I have only used them on pizza and I prefer our pizza to have lots of veggies and just a little bit of cheese).

Yeah I think the consensus is that if you love Daiya, you probably won't like the shreds. I don't love Daiya so I want to try them but haven't had a chance to get to TJs anytime recently.

C&S you should just give em a try. I LOVED them. (You know how some people have signs in their houses that just sum it up like Live Laugh Love or Bless our House? We have one that is a quote from my gf- Vegan Cheese - Less is More.) As long as you don't cover food in the stuff, the tj's cheese is pretty harmless. I did end up covering my pasta with it like parmesan and it was great.

Maybe TJ's will be my saivour. good to know, usually when i go into TJ's i just beeline for the few things i need and go to check-out. i'll definitely check out their health/beauty section next time i'm there. is it name brand stuff or stuff with with the TJ name on it? i suppose it doesn't matter since most of the stuff TJ sells is re-packaged name brands right?

I bought the shreds! Daiya is ok with me in small doses but I'm not married to it and I think I felt the same way about Galaxy in the past. Will report back soon.

I agree with julialegume. As long as you don't completely smother everything in the cheese, I agree that it is harmless. I hid it in some biscuit batter, and threw it on pizza, and we liked it just fine.

Speculoos cookies are back at my nearest TJs! I didn't just buy six boxes (except I totally did).

I recently went to TJ in Rochester as I'm from the Toronto area and it appears to be the closest! I went crazy on the snacks and cookies and coconut chips and all of those yummy things. I haven't tried everything yet but ate the whole bag of those onion ring snacks....omg. So good. I'm at work right now so i can't remember exactly what I bought but those onion rings were so good!

Yeah, the onion rings are awesome! But I'm kinda confused. . . I've seen other PPKers refer to them as "vegan Funyuns". . . I thought Funyuns were accidentally vegan. I read the Funyuns ingredients list at the store the other day, and nothing jumped out as obviously non-vegan. Can anyone enlighten me? I like the TJ's rings, but there isn't a TJ's near me, so I wanna just buy regular Funyuns if they're vegan.

I saw the coconut chips on the "new items" store shelf. I think they're by the baking stuff, too.

I think Funyuns have powdered buttermilk or something like that in them.
