So while in NZ I bought a large bag of macadamia nuts, and I'd like to make a dessert that makes them really stand out, or at least that you recognize it's macadamia and not cashews. Something typical for macadamias?
Any suggestions? Thanks!

I'd say white chocolate macadamia cookies are probably my fave. That way you have big chunks of macadamias. mmmmm!

I also vote cookies, but I never have white chocolate. I always make the Macadamia Ginger Crunch Drops from VCIYCJ, which have crystallized ginger and coconut in them. So delicious!

i really like the macadamia lace cookies from VCIYCJ, but only if they caramelize completely. if they're floppy after cooling off, it's not yummy. even the over-caramelized/near burnt cookies were tastier than the under caramelized ones.

I love chocolate cookies with white chocolate chips and macadamia nuts. I bet they'd be good in carrot cake. Doesn't the vwav carrot cake call for them. You could make macadamia nut brittle.

yes, mac blondies from VWAV! or, like someone suggested, a nut tart with macs. so good.
i would probably set some aside to make some sort of decadent nut cheese, too, or the mac nut cream from vegan brunch..? forget which book, but there are a few recipes out there ..

So many good ideas here! I make the lemon macadamia cupcakes from VCTOTW all the time (definitely my most used cupcake recipe), and I totally recommend those because everyone who I've given them to has adored them, but I'm really keen to try some of the other stuff here- especially adapting the pecan pie recipe!

Macadamia nut pie!!! I make it every year for thanksgiving (using a pecan pie recipe). Its delicious, especially with a little coconut whipped cream.
I did just make some cupcakes with macadamia nuts in them (plain vanilla, with coconut milk)
I also second nut cheese!

I made the cupcakes, they were delicious!!! Too bad I burned the macadamias by roasting them, luckily I still had some unroasted and I mixed them and the result was awesome!
