Just wanted to share that I came across a new line of artisan vegan cheeses that's starting to become available in NYC called Treeline Cheeses (
http://treelinecheese.com/). Like Dr-Cow, they're fermented nut cheeses and aren't necessarily imitations of particular dairy cheeses, but they have a few varieties (smoked, pepper, etc.) and they tasted a lot like real cheese to me. They weren't exactly creamy, but they had a lot of the nuttiness I associate with parmesan or gruyere and weren't as tart as Dr.Cow. Anyway, I get the sense that they are really trying to break into the NYC market (I think they're only available at one store and at periodic events) and need to create more demand, so I'm spreading the word!
