A roaster from Sightglass and baker/magic maker from Whole Foods/Berkeley Bowl/Cafe Gratitude/Bittersweet are getting ready to open up a shop in Oakland. It's going to be awesome!

Thumbs up for them being super busy! I had a feeling I needed to get up extra extra early to be able to get at some biscuit's and gravy topped with mac and cheese, bacon and kale. I mean, come on! I'm kinda hoping they will repeat that one!

I'm kinda hoping they will repeat that one! It was complicated, such a feeling of joy for them and sorrow for me! There's gotta be a word for that. ;) I hope they'll do an encore of that one too! I told my omni sweetheart about it and I am not sure which of us was more amazed. And I'm a sucker for kale at breakfast!

I was just there and they do have a little chalkboard drink menu up on the wall now behind the counter - they don't list the kinds of milk they have but I know they have soy and almond, and may have dreamed they have oat. They make a really good almond latte! I bet you could also ask them instead of having to guess*, they're all really nice. *I empathize! I've been to cafés where I had to guess - and guessed wrong and the baristas were really mean about it! Boo!

We went today and it was amazing. Such a great spot with really friendly people, in a fun neighborhood and the food! We got a cinnamon roll and the Sunday brunch special. You guys. It was an open faced sandwich, the layers being carmelized onion, cheesy sauce, ham, hashbrowns, cheddar daiya and avocado. It was as awesome as it sounds. We took a raspberry thumbprint to-go. If I knew how to post pictures, I would.
I love Oakland and try to get over there at least once a week, and this is yet another reason to hit up the East Bay.

I had brunch here last weekend! Freakin' mac 'n' cheese with bacon and kale and+biscuit 'n' gravy. It was a little expensive, but it was filling and f'ing delicious. I also had a chocodile, which was chocolate cakey perfection. I wish I had gotten the vanilla/twinkie version as well. Mmm.

I REALLY need to go get some of that mac 'n' cheese goodness. And a chocodile! They looked amazing.
I went in once and the brownie was AMAZING. I agree that the coffee was fairly meh, but ALL THE BAKED GOODS. I will really just get coffee as an accessory; I'm in it for the baked goods!

I second and third the amazing brownie, so good.
They've started doing lunch during the week! But I don't know if that's every day or when the lunchtime whim strikes.
Yesterday they had chili and cornbread but I had already eaten.

The cappuccino with almond milk was good so I thought the coffee would be...I know next time to save my $3 and put it towards another brownie! Oh, I wish I was there for a lunch day - since the photos always look good!
Did anyone try the Easter chocolate eggs? The boyfriend bought a 4 pack...He said they were okay, I did not like them. The pb, was dry and the salted caramel was just sweet goo...The chocolate was bitter too (not in a good way)...

Yeah, I had some Easter chocolates! The creme eggs were my favorite. Really, really good. I actually wished the peanut butter eggs had been more dry because they were super-melty. They were a little hard to eat, but worth the trouble. Mmm. I wasn't a huge fan of the salted caramel, though. Mine burst open before I was even able to eat it. I thought the chocolates, overall, were great. I did not find them to be bitter.

I did! I got two of the creme eggs and liked them very much! The filling seemed almost minty to me. No problem with bitter chocolate.

My pb was in a lump in the center of the egg. I thought the caramel would be well, more like caramel, it was like syrup...
