I have to be in a photo-shoot for Sunset Magazine today and while that sounds cool, I had a big cry last night and I look awful. Plus I hate being photographed. Maybe I'll just flow with looking awful and they'll never use my shots. Also, random mandatory press shoots is not in my job description.

I'm wearing my coat, gloves, and a blanket at work. It's a good thing I don't live anywhere where winter is actually cold.

Aw, I'm sorry this is causing you so much mental turmoil! However, when I first read this, I did in fact think "COOL!" I also hate being photographed, but you never know when the photographer will be magical and then you'll see the pic and be like, "Hey, that's actually a really good photo of me! Awesome." And then you can brag about being famous.

I never get that feeling from pinterest all I ever see is cute animals, food, crafts, and style/decor stuff. but I do get really bad feelings from tumblr culture. Sometimes it seems like a contest of who is more forked up/depressed/anxious/sad/etc. Or maybe it's just that a lot of people I know find it comforting to post things like that and it makes them feel better to know they're not alone. I don't know, but for me it's just triggering and brings back really bad feelings. Unfollowing them would be all the drama, so I just don't check tumblr much anymore.

Today, at work, I held a bunny and touched a snake. I win at jobs.

The intern at the gallery never showed up today. She doesn't get paid, so no one cares much, but I leave at 2 and she is supposed to be here until 4 and then close up. So we will close at 2 today, I guess. I don't think it really matters, I just hate it when people are unreliable.

I work in an FE college that focusses on vocational and skills-based courses but also caters for students who, for myriad reasons, currently would not thrive in mainstream education. I went with a group of students with special needs* another site where they teach animal care and outdoorsy and land-based stuff, and part of it is like a little zoo. Our guys go to have some practice at working independently and building up their skills. One of the animal-something students there got out a little snake and then a whopping great constrictor, just because he saw we were looking around. He was great!

Then the gang cleaned out the rabbits and I was rabbit monitor.

* I would not normally use this expression, but it's the easiest one I can use without jargon or a breach of professionalism. There's nothing different about their needs; attention, respect, goodness and patience are all they need. And someone with emergency epilepsy medication and the appropriate training at all times, but that's more or less standard in schools.

I'm hosting a Valentine's Day tea party on the saturday after valentine's day and my coworker just lent me a bunch of SUPER cute mis-matched china teacups that she had stashed away and forgotten about. Also a silver-plated sugar bowl and milk pitcher. It's all SO cute and I'm so excited to have a fancier-than-expected tea party

Sometimes i think water is the tastiest thing ever (even though it doesn't really 'taste' of anything much). I just drank a freezing cold litre of it from the kitchen tap and SO GOOD.

Ice cold water is the best. It really is!

Found out insurance will reimburse me 100% for buying this year's version of the same machine, so went out and bought new laptop. It's so exciting to have internet access at home that isn't on a smartphone. I think I'll name her 'Isolde'.
