Dunja Gulin authored one vegan macrobiotic cookbooklet in Croatian - "Breakfast". I flipped through it, but wasn't really impressed. I wasn't impressed with that whole edition of macrobiotic cookbooklets, though. I might be biased because I don't have fond memories of macrobiotics and especially macrobiotic desserts. Those were the only vegan desserts here when I became a vegan 9 years ago and I believed that all vegan cakes are like that: dense, not fluffy, much less sweet... Today I say for such cakes "they taste macrobiotic". Here's a video of her making pumpkin-rolled oat-raisin-walnut biscuits/cookies, it's in Croatian, but she doesn't specify the amounts of ingredients any way: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8EeRbc06cxYShe uses German type 850 flour for them. In one video she says that we can replace flour in every recipe with German type 850 flour. That's not true, German type 850 flour is bread flour, that much gluten can screw up many cakes. ETA: The Vegan Baker doesn't have to be a macrobiotic cookbook though. I just saw her use potatoes in one video.

I have pre-ordered the following, the first three because they all expand my culinary knowledge and repertoire a bit further. Until very recently in my narrow little world the only nut butter was peanut butter, there may have been a little light bulb moment when I realised there were in fact others. :) And as for the Desserts, I don't need desserts, sometimes reading about them is a good fix.
Nut Butter Universe by Robin Robinson Mango & Mint: Arabian, Indian, and North African Inspired Vegan Cuisine by Nicky Garratt Grills gone Vegan by Tamasin Noyes Chloe's Vegan Desserts by Chloe Coscarelli
And on the short-list, which keeps getting longer, those books I'm seriously considering pre-ordering. I'm a bit of a baking tragic and I am obsessed with pizza.
Whole Grain Vegan Baking by Tamasin Noyes and Celine Steen Pies and Tarts with Heart: Expert Pie-Building Techniques for 60+ Sweet and Savory Vegan Pies by Dynise Balcavage Ms Cupcake: The Naughtiest Vegan Cakes in Town By Mellissa Morgan Vegan Pizza by Julie Hasson
And a couple of titles, I'm still debating about.
The Vegan Baker By Dunja Gulin - I would have liked more info in the blurb. Gluten-Free and Vegan Pie: Sweet & Savory Pies to Make at Home By Jennifer Katzinger - I'm not GF and I admit I'm a little apprehensive about dipping my toe into GF baking, a lot of new to me flours to work with. Kitchen Divided: Vegan Dishes for Semi-Vegan Households By Ellen Jaffe Jones - As the only vegan in the family I like this idea, I'm not holding my breath that anything will change my family from mocking frozen fish eaters to at least trying the stuff I make. Unless were talking baked goods, nobody says no to baked goods even if they are vegan. Wow! That is quite a list. I felt bad when I pre-ordered Chloe's Vegan Desserts by Chloe Coscarelli. I have no space for anymore cookbooks. Though I have also been looking at possibly getting Vegan Pizza by Julie Hasson. Its very difficult to choose since they all look so great.

The Great Vegan Bean Book looks interesting and definitely my style.
Mango & Mint sounds interesting but... I'd have to see reviews since it looks like the author's first book.
Only book on my 'to buy' list is Isa's upcoming book.

I'm definitely interested in 'grills gone vegan' and isa's book in the fall.
i adore vegan diner by julie hasson. and i'm interested in her pizza book. but i have a tried and true dough recipe i adore along with a red pizza sauce recipe too and tofu basil ricotta i use for cheese. i'm not sure what else her book will offer me, besides creative topping ideas, but i'll most likely order it. i can always return it in the store if i'm not super excited about it.
other than that, i feel like i'm going through cookbook purchase withdrawl ;) i went vegan last summer and joyfully purchased several cookbooks that i adore. however, a lot of the new books coming out in 2013 don't interest me, except for the few above i listed that i'm keeping my eye on.
and ack! just checked, so excited, the publication date for grills gone vegan got pushed up earlier now! yay! i can get it for my hubby (although he's not vegan he happily eats everything i make) since he loves to grill, we just haven't really done grilling since i've went vegan.

I tested for Kathy Hester's vegan bean book and it's a definite must. She has some innovative ways of using beans, I highly recommend it.
Saying that, I wish I hadn't read this thread because every time I read about another "great vegan cookbook" I want it.

that is a fair timeframe Lisa, I mean the recipes are done (as far as I can tell). It takes a few months to get the things going.

Definitely getting Isa Does It when it comes out. I find vegan cookbooks are a great thing to put on Christmas/Birthday gift lists... but like most of you I probably have too many already.

I should have listed Isa's cookbook but I thoughtlessly didn't because it didn't have a title yet when I posted. Sorry! You can be sure it's on my want list, though!

Honestly, stoner 'culture' annoys me so I'm not sure I could buy it on principle. And by that I mean "I get high, isn't that cool!?1?! ISN'T THAT COOL!?!?" type stuff

I tried their cauliflower-potato-chives soup and I didn't like it, I had to throw it away.

Stalking Book Depository to see when Isa's new book gets listed and I see they've recently listed these two titles for an October release. The Cheesy Vegan: 100 Plant-based Recipes for Indulging in the World's Ultimate Comfort Food By John Schlimm http://www.bookdepository.co.uk/Cheesy- ... 0738216799(I googled John Schlimm because his name looked familiar, I see he wrote a vegan grilling book which I've not seen.) Vegan Chocolate: Unapologetically Luscious and Decadent Dairy-free Desserts By Fran Costigan http://www.bookdepository.co.uk/Vegan-C ... 0762445912

Vegan Chocolate is going to be amazing - Fran is the baker extraordinaire, and we tested a lot of the recipes. Really high class, awesome stuff.
