I had dinner at the Adobe Cafe in South Philly last night. Highly recommended! It's Mexican/Southwestern cuisine (so like, tacos, enchiladas, burritos...) and just about every menu item is either vegan or easily veganizable (can be made with tofu, seitan, or mushrooms instead of meat). They also have vegan cheese and sour cream. The website says that they have karaoke on Monday and Saturday, but we went last night (Friday) and there was definitely karaoke! It is a bar so obviously they have plenty of alcohol; I don't drink it so I can't vouch for it, but my friends seemed to enjoy their beer/margaritas/whatever it is that they were drinking. They have a Roxborough location too

they pretty much always have a groupon going. their black bean soup is really really tasty.

The Karaoke is actually Friday and Saturday! Starts at about 9:30. Did you sing a song?!!!
The food is pretty OK. Their vegan sour cream is totally just whipped silken tofu, though! I like the seitan tacos.

Yeah! I sang "Push" by Matchbox 20. I went with a bunch of friends from my singing group so we all pretty much had to sing. :)

This place looks pretty promising for a new vegan in South Philly, along with Grindcore for quick bites and fair trade coffee.

They buy their seitan from Michael's Savory Seitan, so it's all natural and not full of chemicals and gross stuff like fake meat. Pretty rad.
