right? but she was kind of intense and hilarious to watch. she was not effing around. i saved it on my DVR just so i could watch it again, along with phillip crying at the end. aw.

Phillip crying at the end was so sweet. He seemed like he didn't really care for most of the season, so it was nice to see some emotion from him. So cute!

i love him too! i wasn't sure what to expect at his initial audition, but i totally loved his voice.

I hope he does step up. Like Nicki said, she can't fight for him anymore. I'd love to see him kick asparagus in this competition.
And can I just say that Mariah Carey is adorable? and seems like she actually cares, although at times she is very Diva.

I've been watching but I'm not sure how much more of Nicki I can take. I thought there were a lot of good auditions though, so there may be some potential in the later rounds. The past few years I haven't actually liked anyone who made it through to the top 20 or whatever they do now.

Yes you should! I need to know if I'm the only person annoyed by Nicki or not. I find her intolerable at this point. Give me back Steven! He did make a cameo this season already though and it was hysterical. You missed it!

I find Nicki incredibly irritating as well. Almost as much as that Mary Whatever on So You Think You Can Dance. Both of them make their respective shows unwatchable for me. It's too bad, because both of them were good for mindless tv fun.

That said, I was really glad that they changed the group competition section and assigned people into groups. Last season's group shunning and other intolerably mean behavior was awful.

I do not have a favorite I'm rooting for yet.

I find Keith worse than Nicki!

I've only seen twenty minutes, but it's nice to see someone that has an actual opinion, so I'm enjoying Nicki for now,

Keith & NIcki are BFF. She is obviously the leader. Mariah seems SUPER uncomfortable up there. I'd like to see Simon come back next season. Maybe he will now that Nicki is there and the judges aren't a bunch of duds.

Simon and Nickie judging together would be scary! They would make so many people cry.

I looooove her. When she sang the lion king song, I was like applauding on my couch. (I also kind of like that she seems older than everyone else, I have no idea what her age is though.)
Side note- I tried to make conversation with these other environmental science students on a field assignment- I started talking about American Idol and they basically all stopped talking to me.

she's only 20, i think. i just can't handle her; she is turned up to 11 and i think she kind of sucks as a singer. between her and charlie i may lose my mind.

and don't even get me started on curtis finch.

Yeah. It's the only reason John is able to stomach watching.
