Saw 4 super paralyzed people cruising about in awesome high tech wheelchairs by the canals after sunset. (One of them may have had awesome neon 80's lights.)

SNOW!! And lots of it. That and being warm and cozy inside with a sweater and an awesome pasta bowl that I just made. Only thing that would make it better is having someone here to snuggle with.

I think I found a form of exercise that I can really love in addition to my weight training. I got a trampoline yesterday! (small one).

It's near buddhist Chinese, burritos, mac and cheese, breakfast poutine, South Indian, a rec centre, a library, and lots of parks. And there's a shared backyard! And dogs!

I played my first show in over a year today!
My housemate and I recently formed a band (like, a couple of weeks ago), and this was our first show together. It was in the town hall! At a zine fair! Super laid-back, unamplified (which is fine cos between her cello, my piano accordion, and my relatively loud voice, we make a decent enough racket), nobody scrutinising us too intensely = ideal first gig.
After the show, my partner told me that my voice sounds amazing at the moment and they nearly cried, which is the best compliment anyone's given me in a really long time. It was particularly significant because they are a singer and are super critical of voice stuff (and if they didn't actually think it sounded great they wouldn't have said that - they are really honest/blunt about these sorts of things), and my voice has also gone through a huge change over the last almost two years, and is only now starting to sound really good and behave predictably again. Yay!

Various physical strengths: Eating more adventurously (hooray! pancakes and lentil soup, etc.), TALKING (to my grandma for an hour; my uncle for 2 hours; being able to chant a small bit in Sanskrit again), cycling around the lake to the marshes and stomping around in the frozen mud with the birds, 54 fast suryanamaskar's x2 (try to do it every 12 hours or so). Awesome. So awesome. I still have a little bit of jaw pain, but I finally feel like all the jaw surgery bullshiitake is behind me, YAY.

I went to the coffeeshop today... it was open! So nice to be out of my apartment and around people to chit chat with. And a random man who was there complimented me on my hair. It's always nice to get a compliment from a stranger!
