That is a great observation. I really couldn't put my finger on why it was so disjointed but it is true there were basically five unconnected subplots and no group dynamic, which is one of the draws of the show.

YES! Though he should have been masterbating. I LOVED it, but the Pierce thing was odd...maybe I missed something? In general the stuff they've given Chevy has been hot or miss and his delivery has been hit or miss.

I thought it WAS a little forced, like Communityx1000 with the Dean in gay overload. But that's kinda nitpicking. It wasn't a subtle episode and they need those, but it had elements of what we love of Community AND most importantly it didn't pander to "new audiences" It was like...you should already know these people. Which makes me believe good things are afoot (hopefully)

There were parts that I didn't love but not enough for me to care, I still loved it.

Yeah I thought the premiere was boring but Halloween seemed seemed totally normal/good.

I think the episodes are being shown out of order. This week's episode felt like it was picking up after the premiere, and the Halloween and convention episodes could just be inserted anywhere.

I didn't really enjoy it, apart from the red balloon bit!

ETA: I did laugh a couple of times, Troy was funny (as usual) but I do feel like it's taking it's time to get back to where it used to be. But, I still love this show and it will always be one of my faves, even if the show gets worse.

The A.V Club confirmed that the German ep was meant to be later in the schedule

Agreed, this "season" has felt really disjointed.

But... what was with Britta-- "I'll bring the vegan pumpkin pie! Okay, just regular pumpkin pie." ??!!??

I think the dance episode was the best episode this season so far! I loved Abed's two date plot line and it was nice to see Pierce and Britta work together, I feel like they haven't had scenes like that since he tried to hypnotise her to quit smoking in S1. And Jeff being nice to her, aw. Get back together, you guys!
