I put in a full day with the kids. After they went to bed, I worked for several hours to get an assignment done for grad school. (An assignment I'd already sunk over 20 hours in the past week on, through merit of cramming hours in after they've gone to bed etc.) I got down to the last two problems. M woke up an hour ago and he will. not. go. back. to sleep. I am losing my forking mind. The longer it takes me to get him back to sleep now, the less time I have to sleep myself tonight because the longer it will be before I finish this assignment. Come ON KID.

I should clarify that he's also not hungry and not awake as in wanting to play or anything. He's pretty much totally asleep, except that every time I walk away from him, he flips his shiitake. He is not usually like this. I really, really, really don't have time or energy for this tonight.

Raygold is like that if he wakes up in the middle of the night. Thankfully, after 2-3/4 years, he only does that every other night. I don't know what is going to happen when I have a baby.

So we needed to go out and buy new sneakers this afternoon too....

Oh no, not the "ugly" shoes. This is way too familiar. Shae begged and begged for indoor soccer shoes for xmas, a very specific type. Here is less than 2 months later and he wants to "change his style" and is asking for vans for his birthday (next week) already. Soccer shoes just don't go with skateboards (what he's ALSO asked for), apparently. Kids, I dunno.
(for the record, he'll be using birthday money from his grandparents to buy the new shoes. We buy shoes when the old ones are outgrown or worn out)

I have been vomited upon horribly. I feel terrible for my poor, sick baby, but I am also grossed out for me. I really hope he makes it through the night okay. Poor thing threw up again about 1 hour after going to bed. Luckily he went back to sleep fairly easily after getting everything cleaned up. But he has been tossing and turning a little bit. Poor baby.
My favorite sweater has been thrown up on. I hope it comes out well in the wash.

Ah that vomity stuff. My sympathies and thank goodness i'm done with that stage.
The child has owned the sneakers for over 24 hours now and there hasn't been a meltdown yet. However, she seems to think she's going to the mall with friends today (while Mr T and I both have work today) and when she realizes nobody can drive her the 45m each way i think the meltdown will come very quickly.

I'm so curious as to what the good shoes vs the ugly shoes are. I just like shoes, really.
Kimba- sorry he's sick! vomit is the worst. hope he's feeling better soon and your sweater survives.

ermegerd. i put the kid on the bus and told her to get to the mall by herself. AND SHE DID. she just called, movie is over and she wants a ride back. luckily Mr T is more generous than I am, because i would have told her to take the same goddamn bus back home!! [in my own defense, i have spent my day doing her laundry and reformatting a computer ruined by her @#¨)(*#$¨virus-infested downloads] the UGLY SHOES: not exactly the same, but like this with less pink. purchased for that 30 seconds last year when she was going to do couch to 5k with me: http://www.decathlon.com.br/running/ten ... 9?nav=catsthe OTHER ugly shoes, which she left at my MIL's house, conveniently: low top converse all-stars, maybe tan or green? the new nice shoes are, surprisingly, low top converse slip-ons, blue with some kind of weird long-haired skull, entirely covered with sequins. online searches are not showing me anything even comparable. i'll have to swipe them later when she comes back and see if there is a model number or something.

That is hilarious!
Leela is sick and it is day 8 of a bad cold and last night was brutal. The last 2 nights we gave her ibuprofen because she was burning up but last night she just had the cough, so I held off and she woke every two hours with a night terror. She'd claw at her diap until I took it off and then pee all over me and the bed. And she woke up at 6 and by 8 am needed a 2 hour nap. Which of course she only wanted in the carrier while I rocked her. Its going to be a long long long day. I'm just hoping that this is all going to pass soon. Poor baby.
