Where do we want to go? I don't eat out enough to know many places. I like Live and we've had past meetups there (I think I've been there two or three times with PPK folk). Where do you guys like? I passed *Fresh at, like 8 or so on Tuesday night and it was PACKED. I was surprised, I didn't think it would be so hoppin' on a Tuesday night. But yeah, where should we go? Any new restaurants to try that we can think of?
*The one on Bloor between Spadina and St. George subway stations.

I dunno, I'm always good with Fresh or whatever, I've never been to Live but T. and I would be happy to go there. Sidenote, I was just reading on veg.ca about a new place that has vegan sandwiches in Kensington? A place called Thomas Lavers Cannery and Deli. This is what's written on veg.ca next to a picture of a yummy reuben: “Currently 2 of our 6 sandwiches are vegan. One is a vegan Reuben with house made vegan pastrami, thousand island dressing and sauerkraut. The other is a vegan banh mi with our house made vegan BBQ pork, Kim chi jam, mushroom & walnut pâté and wasabi mayo. We've also just created a vegan pimento loaf that is like the lunch meat that has olives and macaroni in it. As time goes on, we will be creating new vegan sandwiches. 95% of our store is veg and probably 80% is vegan. We are currently working with wvrst (the sausage restaurant on king) to be their supplier of vegan sausages. We have 3 recipes that will soon be available there and for purchase at our store. An eggless pasta and a gluten free pasta are also in the works.”

Oh man, we tried both of those sandwiches last night and they were GOOD. The reuban was off the chain. That place is no good for a meetup, though, because there's no seating - it's just a deli.
What about Hogtown? It could accommodate a small group and it's always a crowdpleaser.

^Yes, Anna, I'd love to try Hogtown (haven't been there yet) and I know we were talking about it last time we met at Sadie's Diner. I've been thinking of you as I know your baby's due and was hoping and wondering if you guys would be able to come when we meet next (looks like it's shaping up to be weekend of March 2-3). Hope you guys can come! <3

I hope we can make it too! We're still waiting for the baby, which makes it tough to plan things, but hopefully there will be three of us there :)

I love Hogtown!! Of course if the consensus is to go somewhere else I'm cool with that too. :)
I hope you can be there, Anna et al.!
P.S. Parprikapapaya thanks for the heads up on the sandwiches, next time I'm in Kensington I need to give that reuben a try!

how are the prices at these places? we're kind of not in a great spot in terms of money at the moment.

Oh MAN I have heard such good things about hogtown, the menu looks amazing. I want to eat all the things. So wish I could go.
biorobotics, I was just looking at the menu and it looks like sandwiches are about $12, entrees $13, entree salads $9-$12

I wish you could come too, Moon!
Is everyone okay with Hogtown? I'm just excited to see everyone I don't care much where we go!
Are we going to do March 2 or 3? The Saturday is better for me personally but if the majority prefers Sunday, I'm sure I can swing it. <3

Excellent, sounds like Hogtown is a go! What time works for everyone? Should we reserve a table if there's going to be a few of us?

Hogtown doesn't take reservations. :(
I'm good with any time, I can even go a bit early and snag a table.

I've never been to a Hogtown brunch! Noonish or later works, we're driving in from London that morning so it can't be too early :)

Congrats, annamal! You guys will be missed but we'll all get together again when lepelaar comes I think sometime in the spring or May.
Maybe we should meet at 1:00 or so on Saturday at the restaurant?
I just googled Hogtown Vegan and it looks like I get off at Ossington station on the Bloor line (taking the subway) and walk east a couple of blocks?

Congrats anna!!! Can't wait to meet your little guy. :)
1:00 is good for me, their brunch is from 11-3.
And seitanicverses, you are correct, it's just a hop skip and a jump from Ossington.

So my offer still stands to go a bit early and get our name in for a table, but how many folks are coming? I have Tea, seitanicverses, paprikapapaya +1, PeaBeeJay, myself, and possibly biorobotics +1, so 5, possibly 7? Did I miss anyone?
