Looking forward to the potluck. I am bringing chocolate mousse with blood oranges.

I made did make the gluten free pierogies. I think they came out ok. I didn't make ice cream with cake because I couldn't find some of the ingredients. :(

For now, mark your calendars for our next Potluck on Saturday, April 6th, time TBD. Mike and I are happy to host again in Oak Park unless anybody else would like to host.

The theme is Potluck Around the World and we've already signed up (actually, it was a random drawing) for the following continents/countries/regions:

Hector - Middle East
Jeni - South America
Nissa - French
Diana - Africa
Mike - Thai

For anyone else that would like to join, ideas include:
Eastern Europe / Russia
Indian
Japanese / Korean / or Chinese
Greek / Mediterreanean

Hector & I are both really excited!! I think that I might go overboard because I want to make so many things!! ;)

So fun! I already thought of two dishes for Africa that I want to make - one new to me, and one favorite. I'm not sure yet what Mike is planning to make for Thai :-)

2:30 on April 6 works for me! Can't wait for the next potluck. I have a few ideas for French dishes, which I'll be working on over the next month!


I'm definitely up for a restaurant meetup! After my exam on Monday, I'll finally have some free time (uh, assuming I pass and don't have to start studying again!). How about next weekend (Mar 1-3) or the following one? I know we had talked about checking out the new Chicago Diner location, or trying Ground Control. I'd be up for either (or both!).

Nissa--First of all, good luck on your exam!!! I can do Friday March 1 or Saturday, March 2. I should be able to the following weekend as well! Either the new Diner location or Ground Control sounds great to me! :)

Hey all - Jeni and I have a fun idea for our next potluck (on April 6th):

Bring a couple of your favorite vegan cookbooks and bring your digital camera. We can pass around & browse the cookbooks and "photocopy" (with the cameras) any recipes that we want to try :-)
