Still awaiting test results.. but he has some big lumps. The nodes are hard, and I've really been trying not to loose hope. But he just seems so deteriorated almost over night.. it doesn't make sense. He's not really eating, drooling all the time and his eyes have some kind of infection.
Results will be in Monday.. but I'm trying to prepare for the worst.. lymphoma is obviously not good news.. I mean, I know there isn't a cure. But he is just so young.. and well I want to try as best I can.
I was wondering if anyone had any experience with it, or if anyone knew anything about chemo treatments in the maritimes.. or possible financial options.

I don't know anything about treatment options, but I just wanted to say I'm sorry you and Party are going through this, I wish you both all of the best!

I'm so sorry, B_A_D.
Our doberman died of lymphoma when she was six. We took her to the vet as soon as we saw the lumps but by that time the cancer was too advanced to do anything. Our vet prescribed some pain meds to help maintain her quality of life but after a few days she had deteriorated so much that we had to euthanize her. Everything happened so fast. It's been a few years and I'm still reeling from it. I'm sorry, I wish our story had a better outcome. I wasn't sure if I should write this because it might scare you, but I just wanted to let you know that I know what you're going through and my heart is with you.
I really hope Party is ok. I'll be thinking of you guys.

Yah, I just keeping thinking about how fast it is.. and how young he is.
his lymphocytes are normal. White blood cells aren't... so maybe it's an infection. But some of the smears looked a bit off.
I actually remembered your story couroupita.
We just aren't ready for this... but I guess it's not the kind of thing you'd ever be prepared for.

Oh wow, I'm so sorry.
What kind if dog is Party? (I'm assuming dog)
I know there is a company that offers a credit system through vet clinics, but you have to have steady income and good credit rating to qualify.

He's a rottie mix, which is doesn't help the 'maybe it's not lymphoma' thought train.
My credit is golden, but my income in meager at best.

Care credit, that's the one. That's a really good resource. Certainly doesn't hurt to ask around.

Went to a second appointment today because I was worried about him not eating, fever etc. They ran all the tests over and ultimately landed back on the wait for the results from UPEI. 600$ in and he has new antibiotics (thinking he was allergic to the anoxicillin because his face ballooned up, around the glands etc) and some anti-fever/pain med (metacam).
This vet thinks it's cancer, his eye's aren't infected but he's hypothesizing the clouding is from cancer. Adrienne got back with her blood work and said pancreatitis. But that wouldn't explain his throat lumps... either way it was a big to-do for being back to waiting for the results.
He woke up around 3am with coughing etc, around 7am I gave up and we went out to walk down to the park. So if nothing else he finally got to go to the park and be off leash before he dies. We were there for 2 1/2 hours, he didn't stray far but I'm glad he at least got some off leash time outside before this all gets worse.. he never got to do much of that. We even met a dozen or so other dogs, and he got to hang a bit with them off leash. Couldn't really play, but it's another one of those glad it happened while it could things, because again he didn't get to do enough of that. It just sucks so much, he's so young.

And I would seriously like to point out to those forkers at the Ithaca no kill shelter that he's been poked prodded tugged at pricked force fed, teeth examined etc by groups of strangers in the past few days. Riddled with cancer and he didn't even growl.
So fork you for trying to call him a 'danger to society' and trying to kill him.

I am so sorry, B.A.D! I feel like we know you and Party, having followed all your stories - from getting him at Farm Sanctuary to your roommate issues with him, and you've always just been amazing, committed and so loving to him. It must be so hard for you to hear that diagnosis and I send you both hugs and lots of good thoughts. I am glad he got some good park time today. He is a really good and sweet dog, and you have always been an amazing guardian for him. I am just really sorry for what you are going through.

Oh fork. I'm so sorry.
I also feel I know Party, and I love him.
I wish I could say something here that would be helpful and worthwhile.
