You aren't missing much. I mean, I know other vegans will disagree with me but I really didn't like Sheese.

am i the only person who loved sheese and broke off and ate great big hunks of it straight out of the package? for me it was the first vegan cheese that didn't feel like one of those really hard compromises that you resent having to make but recognize as an inescapable drawback in an otherwise great relationship.

Other than Dr Cow, there was never a vegan cheese I loved. I think Cheezly was pretty good on pizza, Daiya being a poor substitute. I limit my use of vegan cheese to a couple times per year when I eat out and sadly, it is usually Daiya.

I'm the Last American Vegan who doesn't like Cheezly. This must be proof that I don't belong here.

We still love you but we may deport you to a Daiya loving country.

And this. I would love to see a more traditional Havarti flavor; one with dill would be amazing!

I haven't found anything, yet. They do already have the slices listed in their products section on their page, though. It didn't take them long to get the pepperjack shreds and wedges on the shelves, though so I'd guess 2-3 months.

Yeah, we needed more cream cheese. *sigh*

On the other hand, since Daiya seems readily available to restaurants etc, maybe they will push getting it into places like Panera.

Creme fraiche, mascarpone, anything different. C'mon guys--give us new stuff!

yeah you're right- I would be in favor of vegan cream cheese at mainstream places.

EXACTLY. I am pretty disappointed. Honestly, I won't even bother trying it... I'm perfectly happy with Tofutti cream cheese. If it shows up at places like Panera or whatever, then I'll get it, because it'll be nice to be able to get a bagel with cream cheese again, but that's really it.

Blah.

there are some times when i eat tofutti and realize how off it tastes. if it's soy-free, it hopefully won't have that beany taste. it's not necessary, though. i can barely use up the tubs of tofutti i buy unless i eat bagels everyday.

I've never bought tofutti cream cheese but I'm pretty sure I had it at a PPKers house.

I only like Tofutti in cheesecakes or frosting. By itself I think it's kind of blah, and for some reason the grocery stores near me only carry the trans-fat version or the gross Galaxy brand. If my Safeway carried Daiya and if it was good, I would be soooo happy!

If Vijita tries them I will. I remain mehhhhhgoopugh about 90% of the time I've tried Daiya, but maybe slices would improve the heaps of shreds so many places put on everything now.

I find that the tofutti cream cheese mixed with sriracha is really good on savory bagels like everything and onion. I'd LOVE if a bagel shop started offering vegan cream cheese. My bagel shop stopped offering hummus. No my only option is peanut butter...yaaay.

ETA: According to the daiya website the slices will be round, not square. That kinda sucks. My bread is square!

Personally, I'm sort of excited about the cream cheese. I've never really been a fan of Toffuti unless jam was also smeared on top. Which is fine, because jam and cream cheese was a combo I liked before going vegan, but sometimes I'd really just want a plain bagel and cream cheese and it just tasted gross to me. Plus, strawberry cream cheese! That was like my favorite thing ever when I was little.

I forking love sheese. I'm lukewarm on cheezly, but I've only tried one kind (the bacon cheddar).

True but the only use for swiss I have is for turkey and swiss sandwiches. I will have to try tofurkey turkey slices when I try the swiss. Also, I am having flash backs to swiss cheese, definitely one of my favorites, I'm guessing I'll be disappointed but I'll still try it.

Ooh lovely nutty swiss cheese.

I love the jalapeno havarti with crackers (especially those Crunchmaster seedy ones). I can eat a big chunk and a lot of crackers with a glass of red when I feel like it.

I also like tofutti straight up on bagels but I was never a big cream cheese fan. I will be happy to try Daiya's version. I do not like the Yoso cream cheese - maybe that's only available in Canada.

Now I am starving - going to lunch. No cheese unfortunately.

you guys, it's not gonna taste like swiss. the one thing i know i can count on from daiya is a complete lack of authenticity. it might taste like those port cheez balls.
