We had this thread when it was first coming out. I love Beyond Meat and can't wait until they release their retail version this year. Right now I can only buy it in dishes that WF is making in their prepared foods section. But they keep making a vegetarian buffalo chicken salad out of it that isn't vegan.

VegNews took a picture of what it will the packaging will look like from the Natural Foods Convention that just passed. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid ... =3&theater

Awesome! Thanks for those links GraciaKai.

See, it drives me nuts that I have to go to one part of my store for daiya, another section if I need earth balance, and neither of them are anywhere near the section where actual cheese and butter are. Veganaise should be with the rest of the mayo and dressings, dammit!

At one grocery store near me, there's a natural foods section where they have daiya, earth balance, toffutti cream cheese, amy's products, etc. and as an extra bonus, it's right by the produce section. So I can get everything right there and it’s the best. But all the other stores (even within this chain) are arranged differently. One of them has a natural foods section with Amy’s products but the boca and mornigstar farms burgers are in the normal section near the burgers. I was so baffled when I went there to look for boca chicken patties the first time.

Whole Foods tends to use it in things uncooked. This is a mistake because tastes way better when cooked.

Maybe this was the issue when I tried it - I thought it was pretty gross but I think it was a sample of a cold chicken salad type thing.

They have it here in Seattle at Vegan Haven...I think in 10 lb bags too...I think it is a delicious alternative but I still like making my own stuff better.

They're selling a pre-packaged BBQ Beyond Meat wrap at my WF and they put a $2.00 off coupon in their Whole Deal circular thing, so I tried one out for dinner last night. I really enjoyed it. I heated it up because the idea of eating the stuff cold freaked me out for some reason. But it was very tasty and very convincingly chickenish.

Are they what WF uses in their sweet and sour vegan chicken? If so, I thought it was flavorless and revolting. Not at all what they use in the General Tsos.

not sure about the s&s chicken but they use it in a bbq chicken wrap out here and both my hubby and i agreed, it was pretty flavorless and way too dense. very disappointed but will give it another try to see if we warm up to it.

The fajitas look great!

I picked up a package of the Beyond Meat at WF a month or so ago. I mostly tasted pea protein (reminded me of some protein powder I used for smoothies and never bought again) . That isn't horrible, but I'd prefer Gardein for both flavor and texture. My girlfriend despised the texture and and declared that it was like eating play dough. I'm not sure if she actually ever ate play dough.

Maybe we got a bad package? It was the grilled flavor. Do you all recommend another variety more?

Based on the other great reviews here, I may give it a try again if the coupon we have didn't expire.
