Before I place an order online, I was curious if anyone has found someplace in town to get carageenan powder? I'm addicted to cheese making, but have only been able to locate agar so far.

Thanks!

I think Herbivore has some to complement the Vegan Artisan Cheese book.

Thanks alan! I went to Food Fight looking, it never occurred to me to check next door. I'll check it out.

I've scoured Portland looking for it, so that's super nice to hear that Herbivore has it! I've bought mine from Modernistpantry.com

Maybe call them before heading over if it's out of the way for anyone; I'm not 100% sure. I'll be down there tomorrow, though, and try to remember to see if they have it for sure.

I called Herbivore today and confirmed they have it. Thanks again alan! I'll be down there Saturday and am excited to try it out. Btw, I noticed they also have the same agar packets I got from an Asian store on their website.

Yeah, FF and Herbivore both have agar powder; FF has flakes, too.

Did you come into the store to buy it during the Betty Goes Vegan talk? If you did then I saw you!

It's always exciting to spot PPKers in the wild.
