Hi pals!

Jay and I have some time to kill before we head to the airport tomorrow, and I am insisting that we not drive all the way in to the city from Tsawwassen, but the problem is I'm not very familiar with Richmond. We do have a car, and I want to get a meal! And since it's Richmond, it might as well be Asian-veg. Has anyone been to 4 Stones Vegetarian? Is there anywhere else anyone could recommend?

Ohhh, Richmond. Seriously my favourite city ever. I wish I could recommend you a restaurant, but it's changed a lot since I lived there. I really want to know where you end up going though, and if it's good! (Oh, and I have heard that House of Tofu Soup is a good Korean restaurant with a lot of veg options, but I haven't had a chance to try it. Might be good?)

Gah, of COURSE the only day they are closed is Tuesday! Too bad...I love Korean food so much.

I think we'll be going to 4 Stones since it's only one stone's throw from the airport. I'll let you know how it is!

I prefer Spicy Veg. They're close to a skytrain station. Veggie Bunch is also awesome.

Good to know! I'm a little bit nervous about feasting on oily food before a 10 hour flight, but at the same time, I have recently begun to hugely appreciate Chinese vegetarian cuisine.

4 Stones was good! The spicy kimchi hotpot (veganized) was filled with delights: glass noodles, many mushrooms, veggies, taro, vegan shrimp/sausage, fresh tofu, kimchi, etc. My only thing is that was it wasn't really spicy. Jay got the smoked bean curd (which was yuba, and DELICIOUS), and we shared the grilled mixed mushrooms. Considering that the hot pot was a "small", and came with brown rice, this was a massive meal. I would definitely go back. We did make an effort to order not-so-greasy meals since we knew we were boarding a 10-hour flight, but that didn't seem to be much of a problem. Oh Jay also ordered gyoza which we both agree was unmemorable.
